Godzilla: Kaiju Uprising

Post by Godzilla165 »

Hellfire, brimstone, and ash... Those were all that surrounded a fallen figure trapped beneath several tons of rubble. Their vision was hazy and disoriented, every inch of their body was wracked with pain, and blood was leaking from a myriad of different wounds on their person. They desperately tried to get up but were cruelly denied, their back and legs crushed under hot debris. Outside they could here nothing but what sounded like a war between gods, raging mercilessly. Hellish bellows, howls, cackles, and earthquake-like stomps rang through the figure's bloodied ears like an enormous bell. "This is it." The figure stated weakly, clutching a bruised hand in defeat. "This is how I die."

Kenichi's eyes explode open as wide as they physically can, and he immediately shoots straight up in his bed; face drenched in sweat and panting heavily. He scans the pitch black bedroom as if in anticipation for something to happen, but after nothing occurs aside from the air conditioning humming to life, Kenichi allows for himself to relax. Riyoko lazily rubs his arm to comfort her distressed husband, and Kenichi responds by slinking back down beneath the bed sheets; wrapping himself tightly around her.

"Another night terror?" She whispers calmly.

"Mhmm." Kenichi responds with a nasally sigh, his eyes still wide open as he examined her petite silhouette.

Riyoko gently caresses his chest in a sense of both caring and understanding, for she knew that this was still difficult for Kenichi to get over. Even though he was alive, the memories were still fresh; the images that he saw tore at his subconscious constantly. "It's okay honey I'm here, you're safe I promise. Just try to get some sleep okay, you'll be having to get up pretty soon." Riyoko groggily reassures him.

Kenichi clenches her small and delicate hand tightly, and closes his eyes. He wasn't going back to sleep and Riyoko was fully aware of that, but it was still sweet of her to try and usher him to do so. Frankly, Kenichi truly wished that he could lull himself back to sleep somehow, for dozing off at a no nonsense place like G-force was a huge violation. The thought of that made Kenichi grin to himself. He worked at a place ridden with nothing but uptight, stuffy, and perfectionist jackasses; it was the best job in the world.

Though it was a bit overkill of just how many giant mechs and super weapons that G-force had at their disposal. War "veterans" such as Kiryu, MechaGodzilla, and Moguera were only the tip of the iceberg. There was also the newly formed Jaeger program, and the various other platforms that were merely used for support, such as the Super X line and the Gotengo. However overkill all of it may have been, that still didn't stop Kenichi from getting excited every time he walked into HQ, and saw each and everyone of them up close and personal. The tech inside of them alone was impressive, let alone their awe-inspiring size. Even with all of that however, there was still that one constant question that was always on everyone's mind. Just where was Godzilla?

A lot of coworkers at G-force simply brush it off and say that he has to be dead at this point, and it made some sense. Godzilla hasn't been seen nor heard from in decades, and he wasn't in the greatest of conditions once the battle was finally over; he looked like absolute hell actually. Kenichi knew better than that however, Godzilla wouldn't just give up and kill over even after all that. The young scientist knew, and even the brash and meat headed Douglas Gordon knew. Godzilla was out there somewhere, and was simply growing stronger by the day. The real questions on everyone's minds were: will he ever actually return to the surface, and would King Ghidorah ever return to Earth?

The environment shield closed overhead with a hum of energy and a final gust of frigid wind. Snowflakes melted against the bluish, transparent dome; no more would reach the ground inside. Emperor JAG gave a single, satisfied nod at the sight, then returned his attention to overseeing the other activity. Hundreds of Imperial Penguin Marines, Mothman warriors, and assorted Thothite personnel bustled about on the thawing tundra, setting up the necessary buildings and equipment to turn this small patch of Antarctica into a functioning base and, if all went as planned, eventual colony of The Empire of Jagopolis.

Living quarters and storage buildings were being erected. Thothite agricultural experts were beginning to convert areas of the frozen soil into something in which food could be grown. Tanks and other military vehicles rumbled into garages, where they would remain until needed. Various types of anti-gravity aircraft took their places in hangars and on landing platforms. Defensive turrets were being constructed around the base's perimeter, ready to repel any attempt at attack. And looming over it all, a massive hangar containing the S.P.H.I.N.K.C.S., the mighty mech that was the main reason for this operation.

According to Thoth, the people of this version of Earth lived under constant threat of attack by giant, nigh-unstoppable monsters. The god wanted to ease their suffering and bring them peace and prosperity, as he did wherever possible. More importantly, in JAG's opinion, the boundries of this particular dimension were unstable, potentially allowing for the escape of some of the monsters. They needed to be brought to heel before that could happen. He'd seen footage of what the out-of-control animals had done to much of this world, and he had no intention of allowing them to repeat the process elsewhere; there were a great many worlds out there he had plans for. The Thothites were convinced that the monsters could be pacified through study and understanding, but JAG had insisted on heavily arming the S.P.H.I.N.K.C.S. for a reason. Sometimes vermin simply needed to be exterminated.

And if the offer of protection from their tormentors could convince some of this world's people to become citizens of Jagopolis, so much the better. He'd never claimed to be some sort of altruist, and would take anything he could gain from his involvement here.

But that would come later. "Anything of interest on the sensors yet, Lieutenant?" he inquired of the penguin in charge of monitoring the highly advanced sensory equipment that would be scanning the globe for dangerous monster activity.

"Nothing yet, sir. We're picking up some big animals moving around out there, for sure, but none of them are heading for civilization right now." The bird rolled his eyes. "Which should mean that now is a good time to hammer them, but..."

"...but Thoth and his eggheads would disapprove," JAG finished. "Don't worry about it, Marine. We'll get to do things our way soon enough. Keep watching," he ordered, nodding toward the penguin's monitor. He strode away to check in on the S.P.H.I.N.K.C.S. preparations. He wanted everything to be ready to go when the time for action came.

And the war continued. For too damn long had this war raged on and Gordon was getting impatient, although that might've been the fact that for years there had been progress only to halt about three years ago. Godzilla, the toughest bastard on this planet besides Gordon himself. Gordon had spent years fighting the giant lizard to find out that he was possibly the lesser of two evils, fine by him, he liked facing multiple targets at a time.

And yet here Gordon stood, faced with the threat of losing his job due to this attitude. When Gordon became captain of the Gotengo, he did it to save lives, but apparently that was not enough to the government. They talked of his reckless behavior and violent nature, they were right, he had a problem with that but he focused it on the right targets, the kaiju.

"You goddamn idiots." Gordon muttered to himself.

Roy sat outside ontop of a building watching the horizon. Lately he felt a strong urge to transform again. Having nightmares about transformations and rampages of his own. But at the same time he wasnt the threat he was truly worried about. Something bigger was coming.

"Status: green. Everything seems to be working alright," said one of the astronauts on board the satellite.

"Find anything that may have been linked to the disappearance of the other satellites in this one's same orbit?" a director of the operation center back on Earth.

"Negative. We have no idea what's causing these accidents. We'll stay in this orbit and notify you if anything strange starts to occur," another astronaut replied to the question.

"Very well then, keep a sharp eye out. We don't need to lose another crew to unknown causes..."

Western Pacific, Mariana Trench.

Darkness, that is all that enveloped the deepest abyss on Earth, a place where no human has ever gone; the perfect hiding spot. Humanity always looks to the stars to try and locate alien life, but fail to realize that such is right in front of them. Various exotic and downright bizarre sea life call the Mariana Trench home, and have evolved to fit the harsh conditions of said environment. Crushing deep sea pressures, grueling currents, and the complete darkness all make the Mariana Trench a watery hell for anything but the most specialized of creatures. That is however, unless you're a giant monster. The life forms of the abyss have gained a new member to their ranks, one that has long since become the top organism; unchallenged for years.

If he isn't regaining his strength from the natural radiation of Earth's core, Godzilla spends the rest of the time hibernating for months at a time. The proclaimed "King of all monsters" was critically injured from his last battle, more so than he has ever been before. Combined with the sheer exhaustion that overtook Godzilla once it was finally over, he could do nothing more than drag himself out to sea, and slip into a coma as soon as he reached the Pacific. Most of Godzilla's hide was stripped away, seared, and covered in ghastly injuries; his dorsal fins cracked and shattered apart. King Ghidorah didn't look much better, and yet Godzilla still couldn't manage to make the final blow; far too weakened to expend anymore energy and allowing for the dragon to escape.

The "thought" enraged the radioactive titan more than anything else, for he "knew" that Ghidorah was out there regaining his strength as well. Godzilla's instinct told him to return to the surface once more and reclaim his territory, and Godzilla would soon comply once he returned to his peak. For now though, the Kaiju slept, fed every blue moon, and went back to sleep; a shadow of his former glory.

Darkness and pain.
This is all that Gigan remembered as his red eye flickered on for the first time in many decades. He immediately realized he was trapped, buried beneath something. It was hard to move. How did he get here? What happened?
Slowly the memories began to come into his mind. He remembered he had been leaving peacefully in space before some creatures had done something to him. After this only memories of battles sprung up. He won most of them, but he lost on this planet to a dinosaurian monster who had some type of atomic breath. He remembered falling off the side of a cliff, but after that his memory has gone blank.
He turned, pushing against the layers of materiel that wave coated him for years. He lifted his claws and broke through, freeing himself. He looked up into the dark sky. It was night time. He laid down beside the remnants of his tomb. He was still tired after slowly recovering for those many years. He would get up when the sun was back in the day.

Captain Gordon looked out at the G-Force base, it was a very recent merger between his organization and G-Force that brought him here. He was wearing his usual uniform and had his katana at his side as usual. He didn't need the katana, really, but it was a "souvenir" from a prevous mission of his. He didn't like the higher-ups at G-Force too much, they said the Gotengo wasn't officially his ship anymore but they did say he could keep it so there was that.

To be honest, he was itching for any kind of action. He didn't like to admit it but he loved fighting. He just directed it towards the right thing, kaiju. That's not to say he didn't care about people, Gordon definitely wanted to protect innocents. Bored might've been a better word, even with the possibility of losing his job nothing had weight to it. Empty threats thrown at him because he didn't follow orders. Yet, they needed him, he was the only living man able to say he beat Godzilla. Only one other man could say the same, Dr. Daisuke Serizawa and he died in the process.

So, what he saw was them giving him a slap on the wrist. Gordon might've had an ego in thinking this, but there was a level of truth to these words. If they were to get rid of him they'd lose two things, the skills to pilot the Gotengo, and a hero they could use for their image. He was waiting to see if they had the balls to do it.

He doubted it.

Sparks showered the hangar floor as, high overhead, mechanics welded some component into place on the SPHINKCS's portside railgun. "Double check everything up there!" JAG shouted over the echoing buzz of power tools, ignoring the hot sparks raining around him. "We can't afford mistakes!"

As the mechanics nodded affirmatives, JAG's comm earpiece crackled. "Possible hostile activity detected, sir," came the sensor lieutenant's voice. "The dimensional instability must be screwing with the readings again, 'cause I can't get a clear look at whatever we're dealing with, but something's been attacking satellites in orbit recently. The local space programs don't seem to know what it is, either, from what I'm picking up."

JAG couldn't suppress a small grin at the prospect of action. "Understood, Lieutenant," he replied. "Keep an eye on the situation. As soon as our recon drones are online, I'll dispatch one to get us a closer look."

The demon slumbered.

Leaving a trail of butchered planets, crumbling ruins of once grand civilisations and burning galaxies in its wake, the creature, secured safely inside its meteor transport, made good progress towards its latest target. A million possible ways of destruction filled the monster's dreams as it approached the blue planet. Perhaps it'd aim for the nearest coast and wipe out a major city with a tsunami? Or crash into one of the planet's volcanos, triggering an eruption and coating the atmosphere in ash? Or maybe, just this once, he would tear apart civilisation with his own hands. It didn't matter to him. The planet was doomed the moment he set foot on its soil. No creature was ever left alive to tell the stories of Monster X.

The meteor began its descent. Flames enveloped its form as it soared throug Earth's atmosphere at hypersonic speeds. At this point it was too late to change its trajectory. Wherever he handed would be the first place to feel his wrath. The meteor disappeared under the ocean's surface. It hit the bottom with the force of a nuclear bomb, shockwaves forcing a large mass of water into the air to form a towering wave. But there was nothing to it to destroy. Monster X had landed as far from civilisation as could be. That would not delay him for long.

Manipulating gravity to his advantage, Monster X lifted his skeletal form from beneath the waves. He levitated himself towards the rising Sun, and possibly, a city to destroy as well.

Far to the south, beneath glacial ice and frigid rock, a frozen form flickered with eerie green light.

Stygias had slumbered for the past ten thousand years. It had arrived upon this world nearly dead; a falling star of gas and energy given will and shape. It had struck this place and it had slumbered, for it lacked the strength to move beyond the place of its impact. It did not have the means to repair its celestial body. So, reluctantly, it went about the task of crystallizing what remained of its power into a physical form.

Though it could never again ascend to the stars beyond and be as it was in this shape, doing so was its only means of escaping its crippled nature and having a hope of one day re-gaining its former power. It was the pragmatic move. So Stygias had slept for ten thousand years, and in those ten thousand years, it had intertwined its essence with the matter around it and shaped the atoms and molecules into a solid form. It was now a she. She was now tied to physicality, in a great, exceedingly awkward and unwieldy body.

And on this day, that body was complete. And on this day, evil once again walked upon planet earth, bent upon its conquest. Stygias had felt evil many times during her long sleep, but always she lacked the power to rise and meet it.

Such was not the case now.

The earth creaked and groaned as Monster X set down far away. Just as he had fallen from above, so did Stygias rise from below in a monumental explosion of shattered ice and rock that showered the Antarctic landscape for mile in ever direction and rose as high as the clouds above.

Kaijua-monitors around the world went off. Not one, but two new players had entered the game.

Gordon saw the new arrivals and without even a thought he started shouting. "We've got some new faces here! I need every bastard we got! I'm bringing her in."

And not even waiting for a response we started advandcing towards the Gotengo with a cocky smirk. It was time he used his ship and no one would stop him from doing so.

"Emperor! New contact just came up out of the ground, about a hundred miles out from our position. It's currently airborne, hovering over the hole it came out of."

JAG rushed back to the sensor station, and scanned the monitors intently. Tapping a control panel, he magnified the image captured by one of the base's cameras. The multi-limbed crystalline beast was hideous, from what he could make out. Clouds of smoke billowed from its body, obscuring most of the details.

"Double-time the SPHINKCS preparation!" he barked into his headset. "Put the base on full alert! This thing could make an aggressive move at any time, and we will be ready for it."

Kenichi had hoped that today would be another boring one at the office. Wake up at 6:30 am, arrive at G-force HQ at around 7:50 am with the usual cup of black coffee in hand, and proceed towards the intelligence division. It was monotonous yes, but it payed the bills and Kenichi couldn't be more at home inside of the place. Contrary to popular belief, it wasn't just nonstop action everyday with Kaiju attacking left and right, and was instead more or less a waiting game for something to make its way towards a city. It was essentially like watching for possible tornadoes or hurricanes to touch down, living breathing ones at that. The minute that Kenichi made his way past security, he could clearly see that today wasn't one of them. Hundreds of troops were assembling towards the maser tank stations, the Super Xs were being prepped for launch, and Moguera's pilots were hurriedly jogging towards their overgrown war machine.

Wasting no time, Kenichi rushes inside of the Intel room, grabs a pair of headphones and places them on his head, and plops down in front of his respective computer monitor. Behind him were his seven other colleagues, whom of which were already fast at work trying relay as much information as possible to the rest of G-force; while simultaneously tracking the two monsters' every movements.

"What's the latest?" Kenichi excitingly asks, typing away on his keyboard as fast as he could.

"Two Kaiju have been spotted at different regions on the globe. Neither one of them seems particularly friendly from their recent entrances." A blonde haired girl spouted out directly behind Kenichi, while never taking her gray eyes off her screen.

"Do we have a detailed siting of either creature yet?" Kenichi questions again.

"At the moment no, but Moguera should be intercepting one of them by the hour." A bald headed male responds this time, appearing to be around the same age as Kenichi.

The latter made a face as he continued typing. "Two Kaiju at once? There hasn't been an incident like this for years... So why now all of a sudden?" Kenichi thought to himself. Whatever the case may have been, he had a job to do and the normally monotonous nature of it was about to be flipped on its head.

As Gordon got into the Gotengo, he felt at home. The "ship with a drill" as many called it, was almost an extension of Gordon himself at this point. The men and women inside were working hard to start the ship up as Gordon stood in his usual spot. And then, realizing he was missing crucial details such as where the kaiju were.

"Do we have a location on the big bastards?" Gordon shouted to his crew.

"One in the Antarctic and the other in right in the middle of the Pacific." One shouted back.

"Just my luck." Gordon said with a smirk. "Let's take out this bastard before he makes landfall!"

Gigan woke up. The sky was no longer black, but rather bright and sunny. The entire location was sweltering; he had to be in a desert. The heat was intense, but he didn't feel it. Right now he wanted to explore. He walked for what must have been two, three hours before he reached something interesting. It looked like a city, or a town.
Gigan slowly made his way towards Las Vegas, Nevada.

"What a drastic shift from a relative peace to more monsters..." one of the MOGUERA pilots said, as the three were hurriedly walking down the halls that were ringing and flashing from the alarms that had been sounding. The three pilots; Yasuaki, Hiroshi and the captain, Fukazawa had been training for this day, but wondered if the simulations would be equivalent to the real deal.

"All vehicle operators report to assigned docks for deployment." A female voice said over the speakers.

The crew of three made it to the large underground hangar. Tall doors opened from where the base's main structure was above ground, and emerging from these doors was the MOGUERA that was still in its steel-beam restraint cage. The machine was moved forward onto a wide platform that was to be where the machine launched from. When the machine was in place, a folded catwalk on the waiting crew's left rotated and lowered to a flat position, and the covert door that lead into the robot was opened. Just before they moved on, a hand went on Fukazawa's shoulder. The three turned around to see it was the general.

"I just wanted to wish you luck on your mission. Our technicians have put their best effort into this machine, so give these monsters hell," the general said to the three.

"We will give it our best," Hiroshi said, as he put his helmet on.

The three then went into the massive machine, and the door closed behind them. They then made their way to the control room in the center of the robot's waist. From there, they began the necessary preparations for takeoff.

No one could have expected the attack.

Despite not being adapt at flying through gravitational manipulation, Monster X made it ashore just as the city of Rio de Janeirio woke up. The citizens all gazed in horror at the creature touching down on the shores of Guanabara Bay. It was as if Death itself had left the spiritual realm and taken physical form. Monster X looked down at the fleeing masses with mild interest. He had seen the same sight over and over again with countess civilisations. If these creatures scurrying around his feet had a name he did not care for it. To him, these creatures only had one name: insects.

Monster X's hands plunged into the side of a skyscraper, testing its structure. Pleased with his findings , he tore the building asunder. The demon's lips curled into a joyous smirk. If all the structures on this mudball were as weak as this, raising human civilisation to the ground would be a walk in the park. He had hoped for a challenge, but expecting and then receiving said challenge had become boring after a while. Today, Monster X would destroy. Nothing more.

Gigan walked into Las Vegas. He looked at the buildings with bewilderment, wondering how long he must have been asleep for these structures to have formed. He looked into one of them, and watched as little beings ran and screamed. Gigan stared at them, then roared and continued on, demolishing buildings as he made his way to the other end of Vegas.
