JP Roleplay part 2- Isla Sorna

[Godzilla The King]

In the middle of the forest, a raptor was gorging itself on a carcass of a much larger dinosaur. It was clear from looking at this one that it did not kill the much larger animal but waited for it to die. This was Thorn, a little deformed raptor. Thorn purred in delight as he devoured his meal, it was his first in a long time. He stopped for a moment to check if any other scavengers had decided to come along. Thorn was not naturally a scavenger, he learned this behavior from his experience on the island.

As Split slept two miles to the west and 850 feet above, Gront foraged about in the undergrowth, clubbed tail wagging enthusiastically, armored nostrils flaring as he snuffled about the forest floor.

Vegetation was plentiful, sure, but Gront was looking for something specific-- The Tarchia loved tubers. Potatos, to be specific. Finding what he was looking for, the stout Ankylosaurid huffed excitedly and tore at the ground with one blunt forepaw. After a moment or so of digging, the flesh of the tuber was uncovered, and Gront plucked it enthusiastically from the dirt, beak-like mouth paring it into pieces, flat back-teeth mushing those sections into an easily-swallowed pulp.

Medusa makes her way into the thick forest that surrounds the island, her hide naturally camouflaging with the various leaves and trees. Because of recently gorging herself on several pounds of meat, Medusa is quite careless with the sounds that she makes while stomping through the forest. As such, fallen branches are audibly snapped, leaves are rustled, small trees are bent, and her footsteps hit the ground with a solid thud. The Indominus soon stumbles upon a tiny raptor, whom of which is feasting on a creature that dwarfs it in sheer size. Medusa continues to watch the small predator eat for a minute, and then with a disgusted snort, she leaves the raptor behind and continues her trek.

Mamma Headed the herd to the watering hole, chortling for the others to follow. As the Maiasaura approached the watering hole, the others soon gathered around the massive pool, slurping up the water with their tongues. The Edmontosaurus with the Dryosaurus on her back stooped down so the smaller dinosaur could hop down and enjoy the water as well...

Buck was his hungry once again. It had been days since his last meal. Uphead were a heard of edmontosaurus. His personnal favorite choice of prey. He hid behind the plants, waiting to ambish anything that would fall behind the herd. If not, he would charge for a kill.

Suddenly, there was a roar from not far away, and the Edmontosaurs bayed in confusion and scattered. Though the juvennile Triceratops Split had eaten around a week ago had weighed nearly three tons, the infected leg had smelled so sour the Tyrannosaur had dared not eat it. Ordinarily, that still would've left more than enough meat to keep Split sated this long and for perhaps another day, but the female was still growing-- she had hit the final spurt before adulthood. It would last for nearly two years, coming like a summer storm, on and off. Sudden. Right now, it was in full swing, and Split was ravenous.

As the herd fled for their lives, the theropod swung around through the trees and came at them diagonally, jaws agape. A youngish Edmontosaur strained to keep up with the herd, but it was not fast enough to evade the ingenuitive Tyrannosaur.

A deep, crocodilian hissing noise bubbling up in her throat, Split put on an extra burst of speed, slamming the crest of her head into the hindquarters of the young herbivore and sending it rolling and tumbling across the ground. A deep growl, and she was upon the animal before it could fully find its feet. Her jaws clamped over its hind right leg, jerked back, and twisted. The edmontosaur's pained shriek rose above the bayng of the rest of the herd for a moment, before dying down. Hauling it back towards and under her, Split stooped and snapped her jaws shut over the animal's neck. There was a split-second of panicked gurgling, then the animal's spine was broken was broken, and it lay still, blood oozing out from around Split's jaws.

Using a hindfoot to pin the corpse, the Tyrannosaur hauled on the neck, jaws still tight, and came away with most of the soft-tissue of the creature's neck, damaging the spinal-collumn further so that the head hung limply, attached only by a few tendons and shreds of flesh. Split tossed her head back and swallowed, before jerking the head off compltely, gnawing it a bit, then flinging it off into the bushes. It was her custom to leave the head.

After his meal, Thorn started croaking, a very weak call. He wanted to see if there were any other of his kind nearby, he wanted a pack of his own. The noise sounded sick, weak, and pathetic. He knew he couldn't live long alone, but his unstable nature and deformity prevented him from a pack of his own.

Buck saw all of the Edmontosaurus scatter in confusion after hearing another T-rex roar. As soon as one came by he charged out and knocked it over with his head. He pinned it down with his right foot, he crushed the poor creature's neck.

Hercules lumbered through the jungle. He has finished eating what he could of the stegosaur and was looking for some water to wash his meal down. Fresh blood coated his jaws and mixed with his saliva, leaving a putrid stench wherever it hit the ground. The huge carcharodontosaur left the jungle, coming across a large watering hole. A herd of mixed species, all herbivores, were already there. Hercules paid them no attention; he was full and didn't need to hunt again. He leaned down to take a drink, the blood of the stegosaur polluting the crystal clear water.

Coincidentally enough, all three predators were hunting the truly unfortunate herd of edmontosaurus this day. About a mile away from the two Tyrannosaurus, Medusa uses her camouflage to simply watch and wait for them to chase the herd towards her. A rather sick and feeble member comes to a stop in order to catch its breath, just a few yards out from the band of forest that Medusa is hiding in; causing a low hiss to emit from the super predator. Using all for limbs for leverage, Medusa begins to creep towards the clueless herbivore, attempting to at least be fully out of the forest before striking. The edmontosaurus kneels down on its belly and begins to pant heavily, quite the foolish move that has now set its demise in stone.

With a massive roar, Medusa springs from her position with a burst of speed, massive talons extended, and her horrific teeth on full display. The sick herbivore desperately attempts to quickly find its footing, groaning loudly as the Indominus closes in. While it does finally manage to get to its feet, the edmontosaurus is far too late, as Medusa slams her claws into its back; and slings it to the ground. The edmontosaurus immediately tries to scramble away, but Medusa plants a massive foot onto its stomach with incredible force; causing a satisfying snap to ring out. The hybrid carnivore takes a second to enjoy the truly helpless animal scrambling before her, and finally lashes out with her powerful jaws, and clamps onto the herbivore's head.

With what can be described as her signature killing style, Medusa tugs and twists with all her might, visibly crushing the head in her jaws. A grotesque bubbling sound, along with the sickening snap of several bones later, and the Indominus brutally rips the head from the neck; blood spilling to the ground from the disgusting wound. Medusa tosses the crushed and bloodied head to the side, and digs her talons into the neck of the carcass. She throws her head back, and screams to the heavens, causing her powerful roar to travel for miles on end. With that, Medusa turns her attention to her new meal, and begins to feast.

Split looks up from the caved-in chest-cavity of the juvenille Edmontosaur, blood dribbling down her snout, bits of gores stuck to the majority of her head. She knew that roar well. She glanced to her left, where she could see the other, the Buck. She knew he knew that roar too.

Split shook her head, cleaned her snout with her tongue, then with dirt, then lifted her snout to the sky and scented the air, trying to get a feel for where the Hateful was at the moment; she had learned relatively early on in life that sounds could be deceiving, and were really only good for a general idea of something's location.

There. Perhaps a mile northeast. Split made a soft noise of displeasure, then shoved her head back into the herbivore's chest cavity. She finished eating the heart and diaphram-muscles, her first two bites having demolished the sternum-area and consumed all the outer flesh. Then she close her jaws over the animal's shoulders, stripping the meat from both and tearing out the delicate clavicles. Crunching the thin bones thoughtfully, she rolled the body over, and took a bite from the back......

A deep bellow echoed from the other side of the large field in response to the scream from Medusa. Echoing the growl of a Spinosaurus and the roar of a Tyrannosaurus, the roar virtually silenced the island for a second after it ended. Teeth dripped with blood and ichor as the jaws they belonged to yanked a last shred of meat from a juvenile Apatosaurus and the rest of the body was shoved into a tree with a swift motion of its foot, amber eyes glittering in the sunlight as it beamed through the canopy. Heavy footsteps circled around as the Giganotosaurus beckoned to its mate. Roused from his calm, Jack snorted at the insufferable creature's roar. There would be pain for that thing. Jack huffed at his mate, impatiently insisting she wakes.
Snapping her jaws, Wendy rises from her restful state and shifts on her legs, nudging Jack to stop his roars. She tilts her head, spotting the monstrous albino dinosaur from across the trail. The pair of carnivores began to circle around the clearing, waiting to pin the indomitable theropod between their jaws.

Medusa casually looks up from her meal, her entire face covered in dark blood, and her mouth full of pink intestines. The Indominus takes time to swallow the large amounts of meat down her gullet, and glares at the two Giganotosaurs circling her; planting a foot firmly on the edmontosaurus carcass. Medusa flexes her massive talons, and emits a low, threatening growl; ordering the two carnivores to stand down, or she will physically force them to. Growing angrier by the second, Medusa finally bellows a roar of both challenge and rage, towards the Giganotosaurs; baring her razor sharp teeth.

Split looks up with a growl, a broken rib dropping from her mouth. The whole thing was escalating. The irrational part of her that was very little brains and almost entirely instict told her to run. The part that was intelligent-- slightly more intelligent than a T.Rex perhaps ought to be...... That part said that the Hateful was occupied elsewhere and with individuals who were not Split. It did not effect her. She could eat her meal in peace, and, perhaps, eat it with the knowledge that perhaps the Hateful would get its snout bashed in. For, if Split's ears were correct, two voices were challenging the Hateful.

A few kilometers away, Gront looked up from his foraging, which was 70% of the Torhcia's life, and grunted uneasily. Too many theropods. Not enough island.

Buck was getting thirsty. Luckily there was a river close by, one that the edmontosaurus were going for. He took a few drinks, he saw a few baryonyx fishing in the lake along with one suchomimus. Suddenly, a baryonyx fell down into the water, as if it was being dragged down by something.

Then it became clear it was a Deinosuchus. Buck bellowed to show his pure size and walked back to his kill.

Split jerked her head up at the Buck's roar. What was going on? What was he going on about? The Hateful was far away in the opposite direction. Split snorted, sniffing the air, then bit a chunk out of her kill's hindleg, throwing it bavk and swallowing, another chunk. Nothing but bone now. She sniffed at the animal's lower leg, gnawed it a bit, then moved to the other leg, stripping that thigh of meat.....

Buck returned to his carcass. The edmontosaurus he had killed was big. Enough meat to keep him hungry for some time. He chomped through the carcass with power, despite it being unneeded.

Along in the dense jungle was another predator waiting to scavenge. It quick on its feet yet decently big for a lightweight carnivore. It was the velociraptor's larger lonewolf cousin, Utahraptor. This male has light tan scales and dark brown spots. More fitting for the desert than the green islands of costa rica.

Mamma watched the Carnivore warily, keeping her beak prepped in case it made any sudden movements. She wasn't about to risk her herd over one predator....

Lightfoot as well kept very close watch upon the predator as it drank. By the time it had noticed the arrival, it was already known to all the herd, so alerting them now would be futile.

Split had consumed more than two-thirds of the carcass, and she was full, for the moment. Flaring her nostrils and licking the blood from her snout, the Tyrannosaur picks the remains of her meal up in her jaws and starts off.....
