WotW Round 1: Ebirah vs. Showa Anguirus (Heavyweight)

Post by Zarm »

Match 2: Ebirah vs. Showa Anguirus (Heavyweight)

Ebirah
Image
Ebirah is 50 emters tall and weighs 23,000 tons. For this match, Ebirah is considered to have no disadvantage (including mobility, stamina, and strength) while on land compared to being in the sea.

vs.

Anguirus
Image
This is Anguirus from the 70s films. He is scaled to 60 meters tall and weighs 30,000 tons.

Arena: Shore of shallow water, bordering a parkway

Rules: This battle occurs on shore; if either opponent is deemed capable of not only restraining, but also bodily forcing their opponent, the match can be shifted fully to land or underwater. Anguirus will not be defeated by drowning (having a Super Mario-style infinite lung capacity) unless it can be demonstrated from film evidence that this is Ebirah's primary and only viable method of defeating enemies.

Please place your votes in bold, and including your reasoning is appreciated. Voting may now commence!

Anguirus

Anguirus was able to hang on Ghidorah's neck with his jaws alone. Twice. He can probably tear away Ebirah's only lines of attack with much more ease then Godzilla did in Sea Monster.

Considering how Godzilla effortlessly popped out Ebirah's claws, Anguirus could definitely take them out, admittedly with more effort. That's bad news for Ebirah, as that's literally all he has for offense. Add in how Anguirus can get in low and go for Ebirah's soft underbelly, this is no contest. Anguirus

Going with Anguirus on this as well. Ebirah is a tenacious fighter, but Anguirus is too brutal. He also survived a massive fall, an island implosion, fighting Gigan, Ghidorah & Mechagodzilla, not to mention he had his lower jaw broken and his head sliced open. I think he got this

Anguirus
"...A great love is a lot like a good memory. When it's there, and you know it's there, but it's just out of your reach, it can be all that you think about. You can focus on it, and try to force it, but the more you do, the more you seem to push it away. But if you're patient, and you hold still, then maybe... Just maybe... It will come to you."

Showa Anguirus Considering how Godzilla was able to rip of Ebirahs claw with his teeth it wouldn't be to hard for Anguirus to do the same becuase Anguirus' jaw is much stronger than Godzillas. And after that the fight is basically over.

Godzilla's Pal, Jimmy Anguirus, gets his own solo win and proves- at the close of voting- that Ebirah just can't go the distance... ever.
