Just curious,since Shinji Higuchi is making this movie,how does he do his films? almost the same as Anno's work (wouldn't be suprised since they ARE best friends) or a little different?

Can’t find it, but the live action Titan stuff is actually similar to evangelion, in that there’s excessive blood spraying with connecting punches.

However, it’s acrually more akin to all of the stuff in War Of The Gargantuas. Considering both like the exact same thing before I don’t think there’s an issue.

Continuing the tradition of how we have speculated over the years as to how Godzilla would look when each film involving the character was still in development, starting with the 2014 film, why not do the same for the upcoming Shin Ultraman film?

How do you think our beloved red and silver monster-fighting alien superhero should look? What should change and what should stay the same?

An actual being of light. even just as a transformation. If they don't go that route,i honestly don't know what else they can really change about him. i doubt he's gonna be the grotesque monstrosity like Shin Godzilla though.

Higuchi directing isn't assuring but Anno is writing so it'll be better than the entire Monsterverse through the script alone. Dougherty and Borenstein's scripts serve as nothing more than sleep aid.

You forgot casuals in comments sections hilariously predicting parallels with some of Evangelion’s disturbing or divisive aspects.

E.g. “Shin Hayata jerks it to Fuji’s comatose body”, “Ultraman gets mindraped with a series of flashes of black screen with white Japanese text”, “The movie ends with the Science Patrol clapping and saying congratulations!”

Absolutely original comedic genius!

I think that was just a sort of mini-trailer/short film to acknowledge the anniversary. A similar thing happened with Gamera 2015.

That series had fantastic monster designs. Ultraman also looked fairly standard.

Yeah, this is about what I expect, new, updated designs for monsters, but Ultraman himself being pretty normal.

Haven't been catching up to Ultraman since Mebius but I hope this Movie would look better than that 2019 Ultraman.

I actually liked Ultraman Powered a lot, the only thing that really held the show back was that it didn't have a big enough budget to cover repairing it's expensive suits. Because of that the fight scenes were far less dynamic then other series. That said all the beam attacks look great.
