Is there any hope this could become a permanent attraction?

No. The Cool Japan section of USJ has new attractions every year. Last year I attended an Evangelion one, and they have a totally different Eva attraction this year--plus Detective Conan, Monster Hunter, Attack on Titan, etc.
We are lucky Shin Godzilla was such a huge hit! It's the only reason Godzilla has an attraction along with these other top-tier franchises.

Yeach I've seen videos of the Monster Hunter exhibit. It's pretty badass with a full size animatronic Rathalos, Jinouga, and Tigrex. Man I wish we had cool stuff like that at our theme parks.
