I'm sure this upcoming event will be used as a platform to announce details. Perhaps if the relationship is strong enough to get Higuchi out here, maybe Funimation will get access to more than a typical Toho US release.

I'll have the Japanese Blu-ray the Hong Kong Blu-ray, and the US release whenever it comes out. I'll probably keep all of them just for the heck of it.

Now that is....interesting.

I wouldn't expect a German copy to include an English dub, let alone no German subs either. Well, it was released in Germany not to long ago, dunno if it was in Japanese or English so I can't really compare. I just would expect German subs Could be a preliminary listing, but that does strike me as odd.

It strikes ME odd that they would include it having a english dub on the information even though it's a German blu-ray.

I think they fixed a mistake on the listing, the disc now says it only has Japanese and German language tracks and German and Dutch subtitles.

UPDATE - It's German audio + japanese. Must of been a flub on the .de website. Either way, gives me hope we'll see a dub of Shin for Funi's release.

So I watched the movie on my Hong Kong blu-ray the other night. Is it me or are the night scenes really friggin dark? Like on my TV it was nearly completely black.

So I watched the movie on my Hong Kong blu-ray the other night. Is it me or are the night scenes really friggin dark? Like on my TV it was nearly completely black.

I've had to watch my TV at an angle and brighten the settings, which I've never done. When Yaguchi is outside and sees Godzilla pass between the buildings ("So that's Godzilla"), the figure was totally gone except for the red in the neck, so I froze it on that shot to adjust enough to see the contrast.

I might not have realized how dark it was if I hadn't also seen the airline edit on DVD, so I knew what was there.

It's not. I "rippped" my Blu Ray and it looks fine. Calibrate your TV/monitor.
