BEHOLD! BANPRESTO'S BIG SOFUBI FIGURE OF "SHIN GODZILLA"! 13.4" vinyl beauty by Yuji Sakai (the foremost Big G sculptor in the world), to be released in late July, and sold in "bookstores, hobby shops, game centers, movie theaters, etc.", according to the Banpresto press release.
MSRP: ¥620 (including tax) — that's only $5.70 (that's right, that's not a mistake, it's being sold for under $6.00 US Dollars)! Well, that's a no-brainer in terms of a purchase — how could anyone go wrong with this figure at that price?
Banpresto's press release also notes these disclaimers: "Release date may differ on a case-by-case basis depending on the individual retailer. Will supplies last. Actual product may differ in appearance from photograph. Details are subject to change without notice.
This is our first look at the new Big G's lower legs and feet — overall, I like the way this is looking. Of course, I reserve final judgement until after I see GODZILLA RESURGENCE, itself. Crossing fingers, but not holding my breath...

I would look to the Banpresto '54 and G2K Godzilla's for an idea of final quality, still very nice but this is likely a shot of Sakai's sculpt before molding and all.

As for the price, I've heard the Banpresto '54 was a toy prize in like an arcade game or something, they're very basic vinyls but great sculpts, my '54 is my most favorite '54 I own.

Were did this info that this is the BanPresto figure for ~600 yen? I think it might be a mist-ranslation, or Google is being dumb again because I translated something different.

I went to the lottery main page and translated it. I always wondered why a over the counter figure would be part of a lottery campaign and the image for said figure would mention "Prize A".

I assume now it is ~600 yen to GET the ticket and have a chance to get this guy. I dunno but it'll make more sense I guess. Someone with a better understanding of Japanese correct me if im wrong.
