Isn't Comic Con going on right now? If so, I thought Shinji Higuchi is supposed to be there for the Attack on Titan movie he did and supposedly he will let some info slip on this new Godzilla film of his and Anno's?

Would any of you gentlemen care to clarify?

Funimation is bringing him to their booth for Attack on Titan, but that's on Sunday.

Sunday has passed. Any intel on what happened in the end?

If you haven't seen anything online, then there hasn't been anything. Be patient. Attack on Titan may be getting all the press, but Higuchi is definitely hard at work. He recently posted a picture on his FB page of him speaking in front of a crowd with a large Godzilla banner behind him. Whether this was movie related or some kind of other event is uncertain.

At this rate, I'm not sure we'll here any other news on the film until after Attack on Titan is released theatrically.

I'm not expecting anything big to come out yet (Godzilla design or a new monster, for example), mainly because the movie is still sort of far away. I'd probably expect more cast details, or maybe what kind of effects will be used.

Not sure if anyone is interested but Shinji Higuchi did a podcast to promote Attack on Titan and the main topic was "the charm of Tokusatsu". I just listened to about half of it and they do mention Godzilla here and there, but I doubt there's anything too scoop worthy in here, just general excitement for the new film and such.

This may not be specific casting news, but apparently Toho is looking for extras to appear in the new movie. This is according to Gormaru Island on Facebook. However, the link they're sharing (which I posted above) appears to have an April 1st publishing date, so take this with a grain of salt.

April 1st is when they announced that Hideaki Anno and Shinji Higuchi were attached to the project. I assume the extras thing came along with that. Not sure if they've already stopped accepting extras however.

IMDB's blocked Godzilla's crew list for general users, anyone who has IMDBPro can still read it. I don't.

The list is now available for regular users to read again, but there hasn't been any new crew added just yet.

Highly unlikely, as several of the set photos show cameras on the ground with the crowds.

Yutaka Takenouchi (Oba: The Last Samurai)

Takenouchi and Ishihara are Japanese Academy Award (they're called Blue Ribbon Awards in Japan) winners, either for Best Lead Actor or Best Newcomer.
