Jet Jaguar: Lame Creation or pretty cool?

I actually like Jet Jaguar. He has a pretty cool design even if it was taken off from Ultraman and Zone Fighter.

Godzilla vs Megalon has always been high on my list. This was a favorite of mine growing up... BUT!! and it's a big but, I did not like jet jaguar, and in my older age even more.. Even way back then I found the name rather lame.. and the theme song... I cringe everytime. The song always seemed out of place to me. I guess proof this was originally supposed to be a jet jaguar movie but to me Godzilla Megalon Gigan and Lord Sideburns stole the show.

Cool concept but they made him weak as fuck and he just came off as clumsy and stupid. He's one creation I'd like to see Legendary Reboot. I think he fits the criteria of stuff Legendary could reboot, personally.

He's kind of a lame ass in his own film. Like besides the brief scene of him using his eyes to search around he has no special powers, or even beams if I recall. He's not even a great melee fighter. However, that face+his song+his design, makes him amazingly goofy in the best o possible ways.

The recent appearances he got in the IDW comics skyrocketed him to one of my favorite characters. For those who don't know he uses his size changing abilities in really creative ways; like shrinking down to hop in the cockpit of Kiryu, or going inside orga and bursting in from outside. So it's more he's cooler to what he's built up to be then whatever going on in his actual film.

I'm not sure what "meme worthy stuff" would entail, but I can't say that my appreciation of a character is tied to the actions of that character obtaining a cultural presence divorced from their original context.

Yeah im pretty sure its the german dub. Iwonder why they thought kong would be in a robot suit, maybe to get peoples attention

Well in Germany they also redubbed a lot of the films to make Frankenstein responsible for the enemy kaiju. Apparently they thought it would bring in bigger audiences. That's why a lot of European movie posters mention Kong or Frankenstein in the titles.
