Jet Jaguar updated for modern times?

Yo, would any of you like to see Jet Jaguar return in another Godzilla film someday hypothetically speaking? And if so, what sort of changes would you like made to him, if any, to make him a more credible character in the much more serious modern Godzilla films? MechaG and Moguera got updated, don't see why he couldn't too, though I think he'd need a major makeover XD

Jet Jaguar is very much a product of his time. You can't pull shit like "I guess he re-programmed himself to grow bigger!" anymore. Having him be a human sized hero is lame, having him stay huge is lame, and turning him into some kind of transformer is also lame.

Well, I just figure that if Moguera and MechaG got updated as do so many other Toho monsters and mechs, that Jet could do it too. He'd be different perhaps, but thats to be expected since he only made one appearance and times have changed. I'd like to see an attempt made rather than have him remain on the bench forever, if Moguera could come back and get a cool update for the Heisei series, and MechaG keeps getting updated, I don't see why Jet couldn't too.

They even brought back the Gotengo afterall

If he did get updated he would need a new origin, powers, and appearance. Basically like MOGUERA. I doubt anyone thought he would return and Moguera did so there is hope for JET JAGUAR.

I agree with this. Give him a beam if necessary, but don't load him with weaponry like Mechagodzilla.

So basically a JJ with eye beams and/or wrist mounted rockets launchers like Zone Fighter would be preferable to him possessing loads of weapons like most other super robots? Not even a removable missile/rocket launcher pack like Kiryu MechaG?

Robots like JJ aren't as popular as they were, but JJ might be brought back with the right kind of story.

The only JJ I want to see is the hand-to-hand specialist. Him not having any special weapons is what sets him apart from all the other Ultraman clones, and I don't want to see that wrecked.

Like KC said, if ya'll want JJ to be like ZF, just skreeonk bring back ZF!

Well, JJ's an android as opposed to an alien visitor like Zone Fighter and Ultraman, so that does set him apart and makes him more believable (though they'd probably need to come up with a better explanation for how he can "program" himself to grow big XD if they kept the size changing powers as opposed to making him a giant mech). BUT, as super robots go his lack of an arsenal would probably leave him at a disadvantage against more modern incarnations of hostile monsters, Space Godzilla, Keizer Ghidorah, Destroyah, and the big G himself since nowadays he's more of an anti-hero type of monster, causing great destruction but always coming to earth's defense when a rival monster shows up and starts wrecking his things lol

I mean, even his video game self can fire ray beams from his hands or reflect attacks back at their source I think. Mothra and Rodan are also examples of Kaiju who originally didn't possess energy attacks or whatever but in some later incarnations they did so as to remain credible foes for other monsters, Fire Rodan had a heat ray, Mothra had her reflective scales, antennae beams, and even stingers in GMK, etc

Some monsters, like Anguirus, are awesome BECAUSE they lack ranged weapons (dude is an armor plated battle tank with fangs and claws and a studded tail, he's good to go ), and Showa JJ was great back in the day (helped Goji kick Megalon's and Gigan's butts), but if he were to make a comeback and be taken seriously as an anti-kaiju robot he really would need something more than just straight up melee attacks. Melee could still be his primary function in battle, like what he was designed for, but he'd still need somekind of ranged attack to do real damage against stronger kaiju. ZF type rockets would be like a nice tribute to his fellow kaiju fighters of the 70s, or wrist masers or something. But I agree seeing him use human fighting styles against Kaiju who rely on brute strength alone is cool beyond words and gives him a unique edge in battle.
