What's unfortunate is that most people have never seen that scene in English, since it only exists in the uncut International version. It's funny as he'll too because their is a second "I reckon" line in that scene (with THREE in the entire movie). Also Ted Thomas (Who voiced Mr. Kubota in GIGAN) is also the voice of the guy on the radio.

Gotta love the convo between the twos guys in the truck too-"Well the way I see it, we're getting 100,000 yen! Hahaha" MEGALON has one of the funniest dubs for any movie ever, hands down.

Another anniversary? July is a big month for kaiju. It's been quite a few years since I've seen Godzilla vs Hedorah, so maybe I'll try to pick up the DVD or something. I've been wanting to watch it again, anyway.

That movie was cool; not the best but not as bad as people say. It could have been much better, though. I thought Godzilla acting like a pro-wrestler was cool, but the cartoon shit and the dumb flying scene were too weird. Really, I don't have any reason to completely trash the movie. I might watch it today...

I need to watch GVH since I have not watch it in almost 14 years. I remember liking GVH despite how wired it was, first Godzilla movie in two years at the time and it was a good start for Godzilla in the 70's.

I think the movie gets alot of unfair bashing. I could've done without the nightclub acid-trip scene; that scene just didn't belong. The cartoon scenes were annoying, and that damn flying scene! That made the flying kick in Megalon look like fine art! It was just so out of place. The music was so-so. Other than that, I really liked the movie. Other than those scenes, it had a dark tone to it. It was a fairly enjoyable movie.

Everyone says they beat the "save the earth" thing into the ground, but it wasn't near as annoying as in Godzilla vs. Mothra.

I love Hedorah...except for the flying Godzilla and the Music. As many times as I watch it, watching G tuck up his tail and soar across the screen yanks me right out the picture. It's a shame, because it was nice to see a Godzilla flick that actually fit into the horror genre again.

One of my favorites. All the things you guys are listing as negatives are positives in my book, I love the weirdness. Hedorah is one of the coolest monsters ever, the movie itself is bat-shit crazy, it's one of the only Showa movies after the original that depict the monsters directly attacking humans... great movie.

This is one of the films I just "don't get" and have given a couple of shots. Just never quite clicks with me. The music isn't Megalon bad, but most of the soundtrack is just a series of Scooby Doo-esque "mystery ques" along with that awful Godzilla theme and the last quarter is pretty monotonous and slow and the characters are sorta' bland, not really having any of the chemistry or charm of the sixties ones.

But I like Hedorah, the films color palette, I like how brutal it is, I especially like the art-house angle it has going, but I've never been able to quite get into it. I'll probably give it another chance (as I have been lately with all the Godzilla films I never liked) shortly.

Strange film, but I like it. Yes, the music is bad. I could certainly do with out Godzilla flying. Still blows my mind!

I wonder how bad Hedorah would smell if he were a real character, and was 40 years old?
