It's not a matter of age, my friend. It's a matter of taste. And I'll grant you that the 70s still had a LOT of standouts, but compared to the decades that gave us the likes of Grace Kelly and Raquel Welch, I decided that things were on the downturn by the disco decade.


However, just for the hell of it, let me give a shout out to Yasuko Sawaguchi, Anna Nakagawa and Maki Mizuno from the later eras of G-Films, and Shinobu Nakayama of Gamera: GotU and Gamera III (whom I find fascinatingly adorable).

If time permits (I am currently in the middle of moving from Tochigi to Tokyo, cleaning out my apartment, packing my things, renewing my VISA, all while working 70+ hours my final week...flat out exhausted! ), and if I can manage to take a decent quality digital pic (don't have a scanner), there is an *awesome* photo from the Yosensha "Godzilla Women" Mook book of nearly *ALL* of the most famous SHOWA actresses standing together for a group photo (looks like it was at some sort of TOHO ceremony-sponsored event) that I will try to post later this week or sometime next week.
