I used to be a lot more optimistic and outgoing, believe it or not. I used to actually be passionate about this stuff.

I... I've given up. Giant Condor became the Giant Eagle, there was apparently two MOGUERAs in GvSG, and now this. What's next, we learn that Jet Jaguar really is King Kong in a robot suit?!

Well one of the Earth Defenders had to raise Baragon and Rodan has the largest parental instinct besides from Godzilla, but I doubt Godzilla has the patience for Baragon 24/7.

My thoughts on this mind-blowing revelation:

I sincerely enjoy trivia like this. Such small tidbits can build so much character for the monsters.

I'd be fine if Toho's next film after Resurgence was a family film about Rodan raising Baragon. It would be a light hearted film with all the wacky hijinks that come with a rambunctious child, but Rodan will go through the cliched arc of hating the baby at first at learning to love it.Space Hunter M wrote:

I can't believe that Godzilla was the only surviving member of its species, but if we continue conducting nuclear tests, it's possible that another Godzilla might appear somewhere in the world again.

I feel like this dumbness slightly elevates Baragon in the kaiju community, no idea why.

Re: Rodan raised Baragon
I always liked Baragon, he's kinda adorable and he was awesome in StE and GU. He's pretty much the 'kid' of the Earth Defenders anyway so I always took it one his fellow kaiju 'raised' him in a sense.

Toho should make a prequel to DAM and show this as part of the story.

Re: Rodan raised Baragon
Baragon's relative popularity in Japan (enough to inspire a Pokemon, even) has always sort of baffled me, since outside of his Destroy All Monsters cameo, he was in exactly one film, as a villain, and it's hardly the most kid-appealing entry in Toho's '60s library.LSD Jellyfish wrote:I feel like this dumbness slightly elevates Baragon in the kaiju community, no idea why.

Uh what about Godzilla, Mothra and King Ghidorah: All Monsters Out Attack?Rodan wrote:Baragon's relative popularity in Japan (enough to inspire a Pokemon, even) has always sort of baffled me, since outside of his Destroy All Monsters cameo, he was in exactly one film, as a villain, and it's hardly the most kid-appealing entry in Toho's '60s library.
