Woof.
So, in some strange way, the only one to be the first is Minya. Funny.
Nice find, though, thanks dude.

Useful book you have there.

So..what's the book, Godzillian? Does it have a large chunk of it dedicated to Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla (Heisei)?
There isn't much to take away from this that we didn't already know/assume, but if Mothra is the "third of her kind", then that would mean that the Mothra on MonsterLand is one of the twins from Mothra vs. Godzilla..even though one of them supposedly "died", and the other presumably became an adult by the time the events of Ebirah/Sea Monster happened. So maybe they're counting the twins as one..? I don't know. I feel silly thinking so hard about this..lol.

The two Mothras could be regarded as the same GENERATION although different 'specimen' if you will.

It's more of a kaiju encyclopedia that tied in with GVKG I also cross checked it with another kaiju bookGoji wrote:So..what's the book, Godzillian? Does it have a large chunk of it dedicated to Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla (Heisei)?

In Destroy All Monsters, Varan isn't a baby.
Hi, team... Sorry I'm a little late to the party, but I finally got a chance to go back and check.
In Destroy All Monsters, at about 1:12:57, Varan lands next to that weird-looking puppet of Baragon, with a little Manda puppet to the viewer's right of both of them. (Tokyo Shock/MB's production stills section includes a photo from the same scene.)
Check 'em out. You'll see that Varan is essentially the same size as Baragon, and both are the same size in relation to Manda as Godzilla was, during the attack on Tokyo.
In DAM, neither Varan nor Baragon is supposed to be anything less than 50 meters in height. Having those puppets in the background was just a case of forced perspective, given that Toho didn't have the Varan suit any longer.

Re: Varan in Destroy All Monsters.
I think this board often forgets most of Toho's rules about Godzilla canon in the Showa era were established retrospectively and don't always align with the exact intentions of the men creating them in their time... especially the later ones, DAM and forward. Toho still contradicts themselves from time to time.
It seems obvious the filmmakers intended all monsters to be roughly the same size in DAM and didn't think it was a huge deal -- Toho later on suggested it was a small Varan to cover for the seemingly smaller size of the monster in the film and to explain him reappearing post death. It's retrospective.

I used to be a lot more optimistic and outgoing, believe it or not. I used to actually be passionate about this stuff.

Re: Varan in Destroy All Monsters.
I like how Varan is the Boba Fett of the Godzilla franchise. Both characters had very little screen time, but the fanbase thinks they're one of the coolest characters ever. Both characters only had two film appearances, but are everywhere in comics, video games, fan art, etc.
