Too drawn out. Don't really care for it. I like cutting to the chase (the opening credits/montage from the film before)

Not a fan of it at all.The narrator gets on my nerves only a minute or two into it...

I loved the prolouge. The narratar made things sound great. It was also nice to hear the show Godzilla's history in this last film. The only complaint i have is why did they only use scenes from Godzilla vs Monster zero and All monsters attack? Couldn't they just use all of the films for the prolouge? But it was still a great Prolouge.

I like the prologue, but not for this film. It seems out-of-place in Honda's semi-respectable final entry.

Keep in mind this was ONLY for the U.S. Version, the original Japanese does not have this intro.

With that said, I love it. This is the way I saw the film growing up, and gave me a chance to briefly see many Godzilla batles I would not see until years later. On the DVD commentary, I believe it is stated that this was added because Godzilla does not make an actual appears until almost 2/3 of the way into the film, and the powers that be felt children might get bored (although the Japanese version alone does show Godzilla in recounting of G vs MG in the opening credits...). but whatever the case, it is still nice to have, and goes to show that not all Americanizations of Godzilla films are a bad thing. I am so glad CM put this version on DVD rather than the hacked up version released 4 times previously (2 VHS & 2 DVD).

Actually no, the prologue version has never been available in any format other than being seen on TV in the 70's/80's until CM 2007 release

It's all right, but the writing could have been better.

^^I don't remember that line. I was specifically quoting part of the prologue as best I could remember it. I'll have to watch it again.

Bananaoil was recounting his delightful spoof version of the prologue. He wasn't trying to quote it legitimately.

^Exactly. And somehow this prologue is still far more acurate to the original source material than John Beck's additions to KKvG

This was an interesting take on Godzilla's story. Not better than Terror of MechaGodzilla but it still manages to be interesting.

Sadly, that video has yet to be found. It's scattered amongst the tapes of the unfinished Bargain Reviews episodes. We hope to have it uploaded sometime soon.

the prologue was cool, once. i wonder how that would have went if Toho had a prologue idea for the original version of the film, that way it would have been a more solid continuity.
