Anybody ever read any of the Dragonriders of Pern books? I'm almost done with the second one. They're an interesting, sci-fi take on a traditionally fantasy concept. Sentient, telepathic, teleporting dragons that form close bonds with their riders, and are used to burn away clouds of lethal alien spores that rain down from a neighboring planet.

I love that third picture.
Kaiju are just like people- giant, radioactive people.

Megalon went into a bar and saw Gigan. Megalon said, " Again? I thought you gave this up."
" What can I say," Gigan asked. " I'm hooked."

Ha, that's awesome. Now I'm going to be stuck visualizing the Queen dragons as one-headed Ghidorahs.

Someone mentioned Bob Eggleton who has such a wonderfully dreamy, old school quality to his work, whether he's drawing dinosaurs, dragons, Godzilla, rocket ships, etc. It's like Charles R Knight meets Harryhausen which speaks to me very much.

True. But the movie Dragonslayer itself sucks...

...Do anime dragons count?

Red-Eyes Darkness Dragon is probably my favorite of the bunch, but Yu-Gi-Oh! has some other pretty fantastic dragon designs like Slifer the Sky Dragon or Felgrand Dragon.

Don't forget Monster Hunter! Monster Hunter has some of my all time favorite dragon designs! I guess you could count the wyverns too.

Got me a MadDragon a while ago in Dragon Warrior Monsters, and she is a beast! Bred from powerful dragons I previously owned, and has gotten me out of a few pickles!

Her sprite looks more intimidating than her actual art though. I prefer the GMK Goji like eyes on the sprite, not to mention lack of red lips.

Top of my list from my childhood would be one of the two heavies of animated DUNGEONS & DRAGONS series of the early ,mid eighties. One of the major threats, menaces to the realm was the multi-headed dragon queen, TIAMAT.
Image
Before I ever heard of King Ghidorah, Tiamat was the multi-headed menace I wanted to see Godzilla face down with.

When it comes to dragons not named King Ghidorah, I look at the world of Magic: The Gathering. Between the original Elder Dragons (including Ugin after the story of M19), the Primevals, Tarkir's Elder Dragons, and other dragons in the Multiverse including the Ur-Dragon, no other dragons have been as important in the story as the twins Nicol Bolas, the main antagonist of MTG for a long time, and Ugin the Spirit Dragon.

I know, right? There's like a whole page dedicated to it! I sure am glad I stumbled into the Godzilla vs Kong thread out of idle curiosity, I was beginning to think I'd never find a place to talk about A Quiet Place. Maybe they should just cancel GvK altogether so we can all go see A Quiet Place 2 and discuss that here come March 2020?
