There's a list of stores on the official website, but it's all local chains and not big-name retailers like Target. I think the only stores like that that sell it are Walmart and Amazon and that's online only.

It's been around in my neck of the woods for a looong time. There's some in my fridge right now even.

OT. Not surprised that this movie flopped. It's available to watch on PutLocker right now. Be careful, that site has some dodgy ads on it.

YouTube embedding doesn't like to work on this site.

And it actually hasn't FLOPPED, it just wasn't the gigantic performer Sony wanted/needed it to be. It's done a'ight, and that's kinda it.

Wrong, it HAS flopped.

Paul Feig HIMSELF said it needed at least $500 mil to break even and, in his own words "and that might be a low estimate." It didn't come even CLOSE to that, hell, it barely made half that amount.

So, as a surprise to absolutely nobody but insufferable feminazis and SJWs, not only did it flop, it flopped in flying colors, meaning no sequel for this trash. Thank God and good skreeonking riddance.

So yeah, about that Humble Pie (you know who you are):

So, you're just conflating (at least) two entirely different discussions about the movie, and then declaring a victory over your strawman "opponents" on one topic based on an entirely different one? Makes sense.

How much did Sony lose on this? I heard it could be upwards of 70 million. Still good thing it wasn't a success cause now Reitman has regained complete creative control of the franchise.

The biggest problem with the movie, in terms of its relationship to the franchise as a whole, is that it was made at least 20 years too late (maybe more like 25). If a new team and a new story had been introduced relatively shortly after the second movie (or, even better, instead of the second movie as it exists), it would have established the idea of a mutable franchise before a generation of fans had come to regard the original film as something utterly sacrosanct, or spent decades mythologizing the amazing third Ghostbusters movie that they had invented in their collective imagination.

As soon as I saw the notification that you quoted me, I somehow instantly knew exactly what you were going to say.

And that $500 million quote is not speaking about his movie specifically. He's obviously referring to the hypothetical Hollywood system as a whole, as movies that make mega bucks are still considered disappointments simply because they didn't make ENOUGH mega bucks (Man of Steel is but one perfect example of this). He said it needed $500 not for the movie to break even, but for EVERYONE ELSE to say it was a success. And that doesn't take into account other factors, such as genre expectations and moichandising! Moichandising!

I agree that this film just came out too late. The first two films were old timers by Hollywood standards when the reboot came out. People judged the reboot by the first two, and it didn't meet their expectations.

Dan Aykroyd blasts Paul Feig for spending too much ("$30 to 40 million in reshoots). There won't be a sequel and Feig "won't be back on the Sony lot anytime soon.

GHOSTBUSTERS Fan-Trailer. Edited to make the comedy classic as a straight up horror movie.

And I have to ask, has anyone here checked out GHOSTBUSTERS 101 from IDW ?
Image
Which features the Ghostbusters from the much maligned 2016 flick crossing streams with the classic team. Some great stuff, even if your a hater of the girl power flick, I think you'll enjoy 101. Especially when the teams meet. and greet.

I think the best way to save the franchise now is to do a rebooted version of The Real Ghostbusters cartoon as a TV show.

I do believe a new animated series is in the works. Or at least Reitman wants to do one. It's definitely in the cards last I read.

They are making an animated movie, supposedly coming out around 2019/2020, and they supposedly even found a director.

Exactly the words I was looking for- cautiously optimistic.
