I watched the first movie again to celebrate the anniversary, and it's still just as great as it ever was. One of my favorite monster movies of the new millennium.

According to one crew member's LinkedIn account God Particle has been renamed Cloverfield Station. Guess we will know sooner than later.

Biggest disappointment of that year.

That was probably one of the worst movies I seen given the characters are too bland or unlikable,considering we have to focus on them for most of the film instead of the monster. A creature which ended up being terrible as well due to the overhyping of it from all the buzz.Even Godzilla in the 1998 film came far sooner and had more screentime than that thing, which both unrealistically were able to hide for extensive amounts of time. The only thing I can give the monster is that it sort of gave the military a run for its money. But it just made me feel nauseous from the jerking camera. The only film I seen that I truly liked from J.J Abrams was Star Trek, because Super 8 to me is largely forgettable. Even what I seen from TFA didn't excite me either.

I really wish it were Godzilla some thought it would be.

So I'm ten years late but I just watched Cloverfield for the first time tonight and I was simply blown away. This film scared me in a way that no other has. It does a wonderful job of giving off a strong sense of dread and helplessness. This might be one of the most well done monster movies I've ever seen.

Not gonna' lie. This film was a jumble of crazy shit with lots of loose ends, and stuff that barely makes sense, plot-wise. The Cloverfield Paradox is easily the weakest film of the bunch. Hopefully "Overlord" rights the ship. This one was just a stinker.
