Funny considering Otani composed for several 90s anime. Most notably Toonami staples Outlaw Star and Gundam Wing.

I think we can all say that argument by a certain segment of the fandom was thrown out with a hollow earth in Kong.
Or a biosphere that evolved completely in molten rock.
Touché...
However, I think that Vakanai is also right in that Toho probably wouldn't be interested in letting Gamera in anytime soon. Chances are that, once Kadokawa bought the rights, he was dead to them.

Didn't stop them from being cool with the two being in a video game together. I think people are forgetting the people running Toho today are not the same people who were running it 60 years ago. Hell when they approached with the idea of a Godzilla vs Gamera film in the 2000s, they didn't turn it down because they were against the idea, they turned it down cause Godzilla films weren't doing well in the box office at the time and they didn't want to take the risk.
Sorry for the vague response. That was supposed to be more of a, "it could happen," answer than... whatever I sounded like.

This is a good point. However, it just brings us back to the argument of whether or not producers (be they WB, Toho, or Kadokawa) believe Gamera is still profitable.

The recent live action situation has told me if Legendary signs Godzilla again then Toho couldn't stop Gamera from coming in until the next time the rights were up.
Hey y'all I thought I'd bring it all to your attention that today marks 20 years since the Heisei Gamera Trilogy had been made!!!!
That's awesome! They still hold up to this day

In my mind the Heisei Gamera origin was the best way to explain it. No need to get all in a tizzy about how a giant flying intelligent fire-breathing turtle who protects humans evolved naturally or anything like that; he’s a genetically engineered bioweapon from an ancient race, and all of the “weird” things about him are design features.

Really? I think if anything it truly comes together for me at the end. The sequence with the kids passing the stone along to get it to Toto was the high point of the movie on my last viewing.
Tokyo, a smoldering memorial to the unknown, an unknown which at this very moment still prevails and could at any time lash out with its terrible destruction anywhere else in the world.

You got that right. The scene of kids passing the stone was the highlight and It felt like the entire movie in which I too passed a stone.......a kidney stone.
Gamera the Brave easily is the best "targeted at kids" kaiju movie. I'd say it's even on the level if the Heisei trilogy. It's a shame it's never brought up when discussing the best kaiju films in the past few decades.

On the same level of the Heisei Gameta? Surely you must be joking. If it isn't mentioned its because no one cared enough for this movie aside from a few here.

I enjoy it far more than the Heisei films.

Don't go to a friend's wedding, send him 100 copies of Gamera vs Zigra instead. Be a man.
