Anyway I just tracked down another VHS of Planet of the Dinosaurs last week. I had one before but it was ready to die from tracking lines.
Oh Planet of the Dinosaurs. The best 70s dinosaur movie. Cheesy 70s uniforms, cheesy 70s music, and the fantastic stop motion effects.

You'll also see Eastwood in a cameo in Revenge of the Creature.

Should get Valley of Gwangi and When Dinosaurs Ruled the Earth soon. Hope WDRTE is the international version because I want bare boobies!

I rewatched that one the other day for the first time in probably ten years. Good stuff. They actually had a pretty impressive variety of creatures, too; I'd forgotten about the ornithimimids and the giant lizard. The giant spider was the star, though. That thing was creepy as hell.

I already found it was the international cut minutes after mentioning it here.

One Ray Harryhausen dinosaur movie that's often overlooked in lieu of Beast, B.C., and Gwangi is 'The Animal World'. For those of you who've never heard of it, it's an animal documentary from 1956 that features an animated dinosaur sequence in the middle. Granted it's not quite on par with his work in the other three films (especially with the intercutting of less than convincing puppets and stiff models), but I still find it decent in its own right. Though I'll let you guys be the judge of that:

Fun fact: Willis O' Brien lent his assistance to Ray on this sequence.

I've just been looking at this thread and I'm surprised that no one's mentioned that some time ago, Warner Archive released Valley of the Dinosaurs: The Complete Series on MOD DVD-R.

Did this film get an actual theatrical release? The Ray Harryhausen from the 1993 Starlog: Dinosaur issue implied that it didn't, which is why the footage was reused in Trog 15 years later.

Unless my memory failed me and they meant to say that it was never released on video. *shrugs* Does anyone here still own a copy of the 1993 Starlog Dinosaur issue?

Oops! I was confusing this with Hollywood Dinosaurs. I do have both though that's why I got them mixed up.

Fun filled review of THE CRATER LAKE MONSTER.

Does it make the film more watchable?
