So yeah, topic. SGTrilopod is looking to be the strongest. Wonder if he'll have a bigger role in the future or if they have something up their sleeve.Greyshot151 wrote:

He's just exploring space now, looking for other Ghidorahs (though I imagine he won't find any). I feel like his story was wrapped up, at least better than some other characters in this story (so far anyways, there's still opportunities to see others get some closure).SpaceG92 wrote:I can't help but wonder what happened with MKG, but that's a topic for another day.

That's a fun thought, perhaps ghidorah is just rampaging across worlds trying to find another of his kind. Makes you feel for him a bit

Planning to get this issue soon! Can't wait to see the Trilopods, and some more Gargantuas Is it true Zilla doesn't appear in this episode though? If so, that's sad.
My personal theory on the Trilopods is that the Cryog Main Fleet picked up Orga when he was launched off the Cryog ship in #8. They used Orga's DNA, combined with life samples they retrieved after a previous visit to ancient earth, to create the Trilopod swarm.

I was just replying to those that were addressing me. Absolutely nothing wrong with that, but apparently it is.
Now this issue better have more story and less fighting, because we are running low on issues, and don't want a bunch of issues doing the same thing over and over again.
Oh and the Orga and Trilapods thing was something i mentioned awhile back. That they are actually the next step in the Orga design, or at least they seem like a Orga replacement.

This wrong. The trilopods are completely different due to the fact that they have to use two different species species of trilopod for only one to gain new powersantovald20 wrote: Oh and the Orga and Trilapods thing was something i mentioned awhile back. ^ I get that, but still same story concept for something Orga can do. The Cryog couldn't control Orga, but needed what he can do to rule earth. Orga was probably a early step to a experiment, and now they perfected it with the Trilapods, or at least that's how i see it.

Not only that but Orga has a SUPER regen ability and a shoulder cannon. It is sad we didn't get to see way more of Orga (he's my favorite monster) but I don't get the impression they're just Orga knockoffs. The fact that two combine and work together also makes for a completely different fight dynamic.Beef Bigshot wrote:This wrong. I'm still banking on Orga and Gigan to make a comeback as Rhizon's betrayal(or reinforcements for trilopods) but we'll see

^ Seriously doubt they have room for Orga in these last couple of issues, unless he eats the hive, and become the final monster they have to defeat. That isn't gonna happen. If he shows up, then he would be nothing, but a cameo.

If Orga did that then GROE would be da best.antovald20 wrote:^ Seriously doubt they have room for Orga in these last couple of issues, unless he eats the hive, and become the final monster they have to defeat. That isn't gonna happen. If he shows up, then he would be nothing, but a cameo.
I'm still doubtful with that, again Gigan is returning in 24 so I remain hopeful Orga will make a comback. At least make an Orga trilopod in it's place or something.
If Orga isn't then I hope he's a part of the miniseries/origins that's going on in the summer. As much as I hate to a be a bitchy fanboy it's sad for Orga to show up one issue and then not again. Like sure he only stared in one movie but Ebirah has had away more screentime. This is just me fanboying and even if he isn't I'll probably enjoy the rest regardless.

^ Yeah i understand. It sucks that some monsters never really became something much more then just giant monsters. If this series was successful, then we would have a ongoing that would have given room for all the toho monsters to grow. If Toho allowed any such growth.

Just hope for the best for IDW's Godzilla run, hopefully its nowhere near finished. Keep supporting the different titles (as long as they keep up the high quality we've been seeing lately).

I'd just like to point out the solicitations say there was supposed to be a big battle between Kumonga and Battra(which would be interesting because Kumonga's webs would actually make him an amazing adversary for Mothra or Battra and the whole thing hasn't been ever explored. Since Battra just showed up and this issue had him and Kumonga start defeated just imagine they had a really cool battle and the trilopods interrupted and stopped it.
According to this in issue 20 Godzilla was supposed to fight Spacegodzilla.

ALSO THIS IS COMPLETELY UNRELATED BUT GIVEN THAT YOU SEEM TO BE RESPONDING HERE
Since you live in Brooklyn do you ever do any signings or have any plans to do anything like that? I remember you drew a promotional poster for the Misfits for when they had their signing at Forbidden Planet so I was wondering if you'd ever do any signings there. Sorry if this comes off as stalkerish but given your love of gore and horror movies I doubt you'd care.
I HAVE signed at Forbidden Planet before as well as Midtown, St. Marks and Comic Book Jones ( st Isl). I'm hoping to get some signings for the last issue of ROE somewhere..

Re: GODZILLA: RULERS OF EARTH #21 - REACTION THREAD
I thought this was a very good issue, despite some confusion regarding the art.
But there is some things that need to be pointed out.
When the Trilopod pods land, they create a massive explosion. Given that there was two-three of those pods that hit on or near the islands, the resulting explosion most likely temporarily KO'ed all the monsters there like it did to Godzilla & Megaguirus. Thus allowing the Trilopods to assault and overwhelm the already unconscious forms of Baragon, Rodan, Kumonga, and Battra before they could recover.
That's pretty much what happened. Why else was Sanda lying on the ground? He was probably just recovering from the explosions that leveled the islands and KO'ed the other kaiju there. Unlike the others, Gaira & Sanda managed to recover in time to fight back and kill some of the Trilopods. Given how formidable they are and their fierce tenacity, I'm not surprised. Once the other kaiju awaken from unconsciousness, I can see them joining in the fight to protect the planet.
I'm honestly very happy that tooth & claw kaiju like Gorosaurus and the Gargantuas are being shown as completely badass. They certainly more than capable of facing down the greatest threats that can be thrown at them, just like a lot of kaiju who can go head-to-head with Godzilla. Much props to the creative team for giving these classic, dangerous beasts some major spotlight.
It also should be noted that SpaceGodzilla was pretty much battle fatigued. I mean, he fought Gigan & Rhizon's forces, then mostly likely took on the Emperor's massive invasion fleet and hordes of Trilopods by himself before eventually being overwhelmed and cast down to Earth. And even then, he's withstands an attack that KO'ed Godzilla and every other form of assault from the Trilopods before he finally collapsed. SpaceG definitely has an extremely high threshold for punishment.
I just hope that Godzilla & SpaceGodzilla will get more time to battle against the Trilopods and the massive Cryog invasion forces.
All in all, an enjoyable issue. Can't wait until we get the next issue in a few weeks! I'm looking forward to some monster smashing! And a chance to get in some more Gorosaurus action! Time for one of our favorite dinos to kick to Trilopod butt!
