As a gift I got the books "The Big Book of Japanese Monster Movies Vol. 1 and 2", pretty good books. Some typos here and there but not bad. Cant wait for Volume 3- about scrapped films such as the Bride of Godzilla.

I was eyeing those on Amazon. Once i get some cash, i think i'll pick those up. It'll be nice to read about different kaiju/monster movies.

I am quite puzzled/surprised that I can't find anyone talking about "Godzilla FAQ: All That's Left To Know About The King Of The Monsters" by Brian Soloman? I am only about half way through with it but thus far I am finding it an interesting read. I figured a lot more people would be talking about it on here.

It's just a reproduction but not bad. The bottom text is a bit blurry but overall I'm more than happy with it. I got mine from Poster Today USA on Amazon.

Got a Japanese "mook" (magazine-book) that may contain something really interesting for fans of Terror of Mechagodzilla/Titanosaurus, plus another which commemorates the Heisei series's 30th anniversary.

I found some weird shit in Akihabara, I'm still analyzing it, but it appears to be G2000 concept art that isn't anywhere on the main site or internet. Another appears to be a really surreal retelling of Godzilla Raids Again. I'll get back to you all later. But I may have hit the jackpot.

It's not Toho but I found the first Volume of the Ultraman Manga at my local comic shop. Totally digging the different direction.

Reading "The Lost Films" by John Lemay. Really good stuff. Talks about all the projects that never came to fruition. Bride of Godzilla, Godzilla vs Mechanikong, Mothra vs Bagan, Godzilla Resurrected, really fun read. only $15 on Amazon.

Just bought these on Ebay for $40. I absolutely LOVE these kinds of Godzilla books. Thinking about selling the Gamera books though because they came with the Godzilla books as a bonus and I don't care for Gamera.

Question. I'm really thinking of picking up a couple Japanese Godzilla books but I really wanna know what books you think are best. Looking for picture heavy books, as up-to-date as possible that covers most if not all Toho's kaiju. Some English text would be nice but its not necessary. Looking for something of good size. Hardcover would be nice but also isn't necessary.

Anything from the super complete works series is fantastic. I covers every film from GVKG to GFW. Lots of pics and fantastic shots of the monsters in the films as well as some fun stuff such as kaiju backstories and behind the scenes photos. I also recommend this one here, pic heavy and covers all of Tohos effects films. It is a tad dated since it came out at the same time as Godzilla vs Space Godzilla

I also recommend the Special Graphix series. Lots of pics and each one details the making of the heisei films greatly

I recently just bought all of the Godzilla Special Graphix books except for the Godzilla vs. Biollante one.
