New Warning/Ban System

Hi everybody!

Anyways, the Admin/Mod staff have discussed changing the Warning System so now we're implementing a new-ish one. I wanted to honor Vega's wishes since he was nice enough to come back and helped clean up the forums after the hagar incident (Don't want to hear any conspiracy theories about Vega so let's not bring it up here), if only for a little bit. But I felt we've done so for long enough and now we're going back to a more familiar system.

The warning system will be as follows:

3 Warnings= 1 week ban
5 Warnings= 1 month ban
7 Warnings= Permaban

The permaban will apply to everyone, not just trolls like hagar. In addition, warnings will now expire after 365 days. The new system is effective immediately. Finally, we will start cracking down on the more problematic areas of the board. We've noticed that a lot of the flame wars and stuff have been occurring in the same couple of threads so we plan to minimize it. I'm certain most of the people reading this know some of the threads I'm talking about. *Cough*SHMA thread*Cough* So expect to see a lot more warnings being dished out in those threads. There will still be verbal warnings but don't be surprised if some board warnings come with them.

I plan to leave this thread open for a little bit, allow some discussion to be made, questions to be asked, etc. Keep things civil. Got it?

Very nice. Everyone can agree to this at this point, can't we? Getting to the point, though, one thing that could really be improved is a clarification of the rules, so people can be sure to follow them and avoid bans. Anyway, I just hope we don't get hacked again.

As long as ALL of the Mods/Admins hand out warnings equatably. I have seen bias in the SHMA thread, where some get warned, then someone else does the SAME thing, & there is no warning...

Then just hit the report button if you see something that should be touched upon. It's anonymous to all regular members, after all.

Don't be afraid to give out warnings either. I've seen some pretty hateful posts lately, only to have a mod respond with something like.. hey now, that's rude. Don't make me think about giving you a warning someday.
