Personal opinion, but I will vote for the Biwa. The chinese pipa or the russian balalayka can take on similar vibes.

My vote goes to the cello and the french horn. I play french horn myself, and it can be really nice when someone plays it great. I love horn solos in classical pieces like in Blue Danube Waltz and other pieces by Johannes Strauss II, Dvorak's New World Symphony, and pieces like Tragic Overture and Academic Overture by Brahms. Horn Concertos by composers like Mozart and Richard Strauss are good as well. Cello is also my favorite stringed instrument with the bass. I love the cello's deeper tambre than the violin, and it really sparks something inside me when I hear it.
