I dont want to type it all out again, so here's what I posted in the MAs thread.

I cant help buy laugh at anyone who seriously thinks SHMA's is the way of the future.

It's not out of personal preference for the charm of a vinyl figure (I love me some super-articulated figures), but rather how people delude themselves.

MonsterArts is the here and now. It's future is uncertain; it may last until the Heisei era, it may last until all of the eras, or it may crash and burn after Ghidorah gets released. We dont know.

But vinyls? Vinyls are here to stay. They will never go away; their future is guaranteed.

MAs is a pet project of Bandai's, to ty and mimic the success of their Ultra-Act line. But unlike Ultraman, Godzilla is dead in Japan. He has no market value now, and no movie or event to tie into. And the LP movie (if it happens), along with the 60th anniversary are years off.

In short, this line is living on borrowed time.

So yes, when people say they're going to "replace" their collection for a few MAs figures, i do think it's stupid.

I cant wait until people start selling their figures IN ANTICIPATION for new releases.

I love my vinyls. I am not replacing them for anything. They're much much easier to do stop motions with than super articulated figures.

F'ing madness. Too much f'ing madness over trivial subjects. Too much hypocrisy. Too much sycophancy. Too much negativity. Too much paranoia. Too many lines drawn in the sand. Shall I go on? It's all just too damned much.

Just too much of too much. If there was ever a way to take any of the fun or joy out of Godzilla, I assure you, some people around here have found it.

I've always thought and been told that I was a pretty even headed guy, even to a fault. That I will ride a fence and defend a stance that I don't even necessarily agree with. Why? Easy; nobody is ever 100% right. Fact. The other side exists for reasons; I may not understand or agree with them, but I cannot be so smug as to sit back and go as far extreme right/left on it. If I do that, what keeps them from doing the same? Then what happens?

Stalemate. Stagnation. Nowheresville for all involved. Dead-end. Is that what we want? Is it sooo worth being right that you'll just stick your fingers in your ears to block out the dissent? How's that get anyone anywhere?

However, if I can try and understand where people are coming from even if I don't agree with them, well, Hell, maybe I learned something. I'll take gaining a piece of knowledge over getting to pat myself on the back any day, but that's just me; I get it.

Just keep in mind all you "experts" out there; you'll never learn anything by always being right. You have to sometimes be wrong to find out what is correct.

And the worst? The worst thing of all? That it is SO shocking to some people around here that someone could possibly think differently.

@Aktion: I agree. People say the old board wasn't civil but at least people weren't this anal about silly nonsense, or antagonistic towards new members. And since 2011 I think, its like people come here just for the 'politics'. The fact that the whine thread is 423 pages long speaks wonders. In the old boards it was all about fun, and at that point people could have a wide range of viewpoints without silly 'camps' propping up.

Thank you to anybody who feels the way I do; for a moment I thought I was crazy.

I especially want to thank Primeval. I know that you and I have had disagreements in the past but that doesn't really matter. What matters is that I didn't ever have to call you an "f'ing re**rd about you're views and you didn't either. We can disagree civilly and continue about our lives. I respect that imminently and wish others could follow suit.

Thanks again but I think we may be in the minority, y'know, of people who actually care about the fandom, not just our own collections and how "awesome" it will be ten years from now.

Well put, Cap'n. There's simply way too much negativity, cynicism and intolerance in this fandom. Don't get me wrong, I can be a serious asshole at times, but it's well documented that I'm usually only an asshole when someone else is being an asshole first - particularly the foolish opinion-nazis who populate this forum.

For the record, I definitely don't think of vinyls as "second class citizens" (lol), and I'm perfectly aware of the fact that SH may not have legs (how could I not be aware of this after the likes of G2K and Legion yammering on about it for months and months?). At the end of the day, to each his own, collect and like whatever the skreeonk you want. There, dropping the subject now, I promise.

Cap just do yourself a favor and drop it. While I do appreciate what you're doing... it's kind of pointless. You see, I did something similar yesterday and struck quite a nerve apparently. In the process, however, I actually learned something that's kind of disturbing: some people are entirely incapable of being taught a lesson. Meaning that they actually do not understand it. I took that same "almighty, incontrovertible truth" that certain members have been pointing at hopeful fans since day one, and turned it on them. However, while the usual hostile shenanigans ensued... everyone entirely missed the point. Are they so egocentric that they really can't see how immature it is to attack people over their choices/opinions as collectors? Even perfectly reasonable people are turned into hostile idiots over this subject. Yet even the attacked are treated the same despite defending themselves or others.

Which i should have predicted. From now on, just roll your eyes. SHM is threatening to some people (for some reason), and they have a tendancy to lash out. Its actually pretty skreeonk pathetic. I don't remember trying to (snicker) rally the troops when the gorgeous Gigabrain Ghidorah was announced. I don't grit my teeth and rage every time Hazawa Gumi releases a new SD Godzilla. I certainly don't act like they're people.

Ya know what? skreeonk em. They are the minority (around here at least. I know there're uncounted legions ) and the squeaky wheel always gets the grease. Do you think a single one of those people actually went "Wow... that's how I'm acting?"

Besides the mods will start squashing your posts and acting like they're inappropriate for the Whine thread. Which they aren't because they're about people not toys. Though I know people actually seem to not be able to differentiate between the two.

Again, despite a few isolated incidents, I honestly don't feel that much negativity on this board. Its the internet, people are bound to be cynical and argumentative its just the way it works. Compared to alot of other forums and boards I've been a part of TK is rather civil.

Regardless of how CA feels about me and this whole MA thing, I think it's ridiculous of him to go running into the Gigabrain thread and start attacking the Ghidora figure in this clever "Look I can do it too!!" kind of way. It certainly doesn't help his side of the argument to get pissed off and run around the internet screaming and whining about this to everyone who will listen, and then derailing threads that have nothing to do with what was happening yesterday.
