No Images in Signatures

Meh, it's not that hard to regulate. If someone has an animated sig, you just nuke it and slap their virtual wrist. If they keep doing it, you dunce 'em. If they keep doing it, you ban them. If they keep doing it, you ban them again for registering a duplicate account.

I think this might be a good time to mention that the "Dunce" feature actually won't be coming back. It has been replaced with a warning system that automatically goes away in 90 days after citation, assuming they don't get more warnings and are banned before that point.

...The hell? We're not KP. And I liked that Minya avatar...

I'd go as far to say remove sigs completely, makes the forum look much cleaner IMO.

The forum will look significantly less interesting without Picture sigs. I say call back the picture siggys.

That's how I feel about it. We have a classy avatar for it too. Just think, Anthony, all that time years ago wasted making that avatar! You could have spent those precious minutes eating half a Slim Jim!

It really is kind of sad to see the Minya avatar go. When I think of Toho Kingdom, one of the first things to pop into my mind is that avatar. It will be sincerely missed.

I'll miss the Dunce option, too. Not only because it was a TK tradition. It did set most people straight. The humiliation factor would've been too much for most people to bear.


I don't think having pictures in your signatures is a bad thing. Would it really take up too much space? Especially if they're all kept at a certain size? Legionmaster is correct. It wouldn't be hard having the moderators enforce a new 'no animated pictures in your signature' rule. Odds are many members would help warn the uninformed in advance as well. It'd be easy.

Unlike a high post count or the respect from your fellow members, which is something you must earn in time, signatures are like a big thank you to people for joining. It allows 'em to be creative and distinct. While your signature can be all this without a picture, it does bring more 'life' to it when you see something visually appealing above or below some witty piece of text. It's like the KWC banners. The writing is great and makes things enjoyable. But those banners sure attract a lot more attention. Especially when they're very well done. Same thing applies to signatures.

This just......won't work. So many people use image sigs that you're just gonna make a lot of the forum mad. It's gonna be difficult enough for some people to get used to the new forum, then you drop this.....yeah, not really gonna work.

I'm fine with no image sigs. But the avatars should really be moved to the left. Since your eyes move from left to right, having an avatar and screen name on the left hand side (like most forums) tells you immediately who is posting. I do see the screen names written on the left, but the avatars should be there too.

You can do that, actually. Go to Board Preferences in User Control Panel and then scroll down to My Board Style. Change that to Gotengo (Purple) and that'll push the avatars to the left.

If you are getting rid of the Dunced avatar you could at least add it to the gallery, come on that thing is a legend! But I still support keeping image sigs, it really does make the forums a little more interesting.

If you're worried about size or animation, I don't mind moderating that. It isn't that hard and I didn't mind doing it on the previous board.

I'll be honest, I think not having sigs makes the board looks a little boring. Sigs had a flair of personality in them. You could tell who the members are and what they like. It takes away the individuality from the old forum.
