Question about publishing a Godzilla Novel

Post by Kaijuborn95 »

So, I have a question about about publishing. I wanna write a Godzilla novel, do my own spin of the character but I don't know what I have to do with the publishing. Do I have to ask Toho's permission to use their characters? I know it's probably a dumb question but I want to be safe then sorry. So if any of you know the answer, feel free to reply! It will make myself feel a whole lot better knowing.

Yeah, there's no way you're gonna be able to get away with that just by asking permission.

Nothing is stopping you from writing a Godzilla novel. Publishing on the other hand...

It'd be best if it stayed as fanfiction.

Well, how any company or author would be with their characters. You'd have to establish yourself as an author before anyone approaches you for something like an official Star Wars novel.
