Recently, I have begun work on a restoration of the Titra Studios-dubbed version of Godzilla vs. the Sea Monster which aired on television for many years. This restoration uses the Japanese cut as the primary footage and audio from the Titra Studios-dubbed version.

I'll be interested to see how this turns out.

Sounds extremely interesting. I can't wait to see the final product. How's the status so far?

This dub was the first Godzilla film I ever saw, so I'm interested needless to say. I never watch dubbed versions anymore, but would like this for nostalgia's sake.

How will the title card be handled, I wonder?

It's over a black screen. Shouldn't be hard to recreate. That is, if he wants to have it in there.

^^Good point. The hardest part would be finding typefaces like those used.

jdownham, how's the restoration so far? Any process?

It's finished. For the title card, I just used the opening credits of the International Version. I excised the prologue, but otherwise maintained the same edits of the Titra-dubbed version. The audio was tricky. For the non-speaking scenes, for the most part I used the International version audio. For the speaking scenes, I used the Titra dub. While the voice synchronization was perfect, I could notice a sudden drop in audio quality which was a bit jarring. Fortunately, these moments are brief and the audio more or less stays at an even level.
