Of course I do. Just like I recognize that some people want to see Godzilla covered with huge sharp quills.
But I can also tell from experience that he's still in the "Crank up the tools" stage.

Like I said. I generally like it for the most part. Especially the fin coloring.
But IMO. His stuff will look even better once he learns the art of self control. And relying more on proper proportions. Instead of covering them up with big massive bumps.

The only thing is, 'proper proportions' don't really NEED to exist in kaiju art. They already deify science. Look at Red King. Tiny head, massive body.

Point is, it sounds to me more like you're applying personal preference to compare with his skill at the art. I agree the 'bumps' are a bit overkill, but that doesn't mean it's bad, or that by using different (saying correct or proper, again, doesn't apply to kaiju art) will make it better or worse.

Personally, I prefer the proportions in his art, because it gives me more of a sense of, "I'm the Juggernaut, bitch!" I like a more tank-like Godzilla.

To be frank, that sounds pretentious as shit. He doesn't have to learn anything. You see, you have art confused with something a little more rigid. I don't want to compare what you're saying to science, but that's what you seem to view art as. He doesn't need to use proper proportions to create art.

Hell, most of the art I've seen him produce are better than yours. And more original. LDN-RDNT is a fantastic artist. Just because someone other than you has bothered to step into the digital rendering field doesn't mean you have to get defensive and attack his stuff. Cause you've done it before with Mirjahangir's stuff.

And you're not in Hollywood or the video game industry, so I don't think your much of an authority in the field of digital rendering and the ilk.

In my humble opinion, those bumps look like shit.

And I agree with ScottA. Dude needs to learn that there's a point where you have to stop adding shit to your design (LOTSA SPIKES, LOTSA BUMPS, etc). Otherwise it juts looks silly.

The design MM posted is pretty badass, but the overuse of the bumps is annoying, on ALL of his redesigns.

The head on yours is bigger... No it's smaller...No it's bigger.
You guys sound like an Abbott & Costello routine.
Guys. You're both right. I tweak it all the time. I'm always changing it a little bit here and there to see what I like, and what I don't like. Trying out different things.
My focus with mine has always been to stay confined within the Toho style man-in-suit, and try out different proportions (looks) on it as if it was a Toho suit. Trying to see how good I can make it look without hiding it under huge spikes and crazy bumps or bulges.
I could easily cheat and go crazy with all kinds of crazy bumps and spikes to cover up the mesh. I've done that on other characters. But with Godzilla I'm forcing myself to try and get the best results I can just from only the proportions. No crazy bumps, spikes, or any other cheats. It has to be good or bad based only on the basic proportions. No tricks or gimmicks.
It's a lot harder to do that than just going ape shLit crazy with a sculpting brush. And I'm still not happy with what I've got. And still searching for the best proportions.

@SuperSaiyan4Godzilla.
You're obviously a lot more emotional and defensive about this than I am. Way more.

But your issue is that you feel that just becasue your's is "correctly porportioned" means everyones should.

Alot of people say they like that guys alot. And you just won't have it. So you had to post a pic of your's to show how it is better.

I love your work, I really do. I downloaded the Zbrush demo JUST because I liked your models so much. But as an artist. Your attitude really doesnt impress me as much as your art does. which is more important in the world of art then alot of people think.
Don't try to be something else. Don't try to be less. Great things are going to happen in your life. Great things. And with that will come great responsibility.

I said that IMO proportions are very important. Which BTW is something that was beaten into me by every artist I know.
I never ever said( or will say) "mine is better" ever. It's not the kind of person I am.

Sorry. But that's not factual.
If you look at the posts before mine. There were some comments about it being too bumpy looking. That's really the main reason I posted in the first place.
I thought it was way to bumpy too. Sorry if I worded it poorly. But I was by no means alone on that opinion.

Well. That's kind of sad. Because you've misunderstood my intentions. Or perhaps my post was a case of over stating my own opinions. But I really don't think I've said anything different from what other people have also said.

BTW: There is a new free version of a sculpting program available called "Sculptris Alpha6". It's pretty easy to use. And worth trying out.

Yeah I thought it was weird to bitch about a zbrush image when it wasn't even finished.

^I didn't "bitch" about your z-brush model.
I questioned you on your over the top advertisement statement that your movie will have ILM type effects. Then showed us an image of something that looked like a hobbyist did it in about two hours.
You didn't mention Z-Brush either. I brought it up because I knew from experience that it was a Z-Brush model made by a hobbyist. There's that darned experience thing again. ;)
I also said(which you selectively choose to not remember) that it's no a shame to make a low budget film with low budget effects.

You once criticized something I posted. Going to the point of saying that's not good...This is good(then showing a zoomed in image of a spot on that same Z-Brush model with a cranked up specular map on it). When the only thing "good" about it was that it was shinier. Do you remember that?

We achieved that. There's 11 shots left to go out of 28. Even those demon shots with all the nice textures (you saw those-if not, see below) got thrown out for something better.

Image

What you saw in that Zbrush image back then was without the textures etc and was a quick mock up by one of the artists for design approval only. The designs got better and improved over time. I don't remember you saying "low budget with low budget special effects" but I do recall you saying I was making a "fan film" which was odd. I don't claim to be a pro at this. I'm someone who hires pros. I have to like what I see.

Leave it to the fandom to blow EVERYTHING way outta proportion (no pun intended).

For the record, I didn't see any indication of Scott saying his art was 'better,' just more proportioned. There is a huge difference.

Geez, ScottA, quit being a dick. I admire your CGI work but there's no need to act like you are better than everyone else. You have had so far no reason to claim Chris is some overexcited kid that doesn't know what he's doing- Chris may have criticised your worked but he never looked down on you.

I think at this point it's best to drop the subject altogether. Scott's last few posts seemed somewhat apologetic in nature and I don't think he's going to budge anymore.

Until he said I was more emotionally invest then he. No, not true. I just don't like people that behave the way he does and I like calling them when I see them.

Like a call girl. Except minus the sex.

Yet another completely radical design:
