My school was able to score the first AF100 in the Maritime provinces and it's a phenomenal piece of gear and I've shot a film on it myself. I'm really excited to see what you can pull off with it.

Yeah, the last ten screenshots I've posted were using the AG-AF100. It's a dream to work with after being stuck working with SD cameras for so long (though the Panasonic DVX-100b has been pretty nice to us). SO MUCH DEPTH OF FIELD PLAY. D8

So today saw the beginning of the incredibly arduous process of rebuilding the entire project from the ground up now that all the footage has been converted to 720p. It's not technically a HUGE setback (we can still film new footage whenever) but it is gonna slow things down a wee bit more. That aside, we've been filming stuff lately at a much faster rate than before and we're hoping to have all the necessary footage in the can by July and preferably a goodly amount of that before GFest so we can preview it at our table in the artists' alley. After that, it's lots of editing and composite/animation work with the aim of finally releasing it in the fall.

But, you know, no promises. XD

Greenscreening is a necessary evil, not an ideal solution. Greenscreening is the work of the devil. If it takes twice as long to set up a practical effect, set up the practical because it will very probably look better 90% of the time.

That said, here is a shot from a greenscreen shoot we had to arrange to cover for a matte plate that was deemed unusable.

I love this series! Great to see it hasn't been abandoned. Can't wait for more.

Perhaps you should...alter...that Godzilla suit. Ya know...

Keep up the great work!

Love the work! Are you the one that made that Godzilla suit? I saw it when I was at a G-Fest!

No, that was Billy. We filmed with it because he was in town for Dragon*Con.

That's the suit I keep seeing around the web. The one from Godzilla: Battle Royale. Cool that you actually got to film with it.

Also, forgot to mention this. When Don Frye said his line in episode 2, I loled so hard. THAT was genuinely hilarious. I'll never know how you got Frye to do that. Hope that more laughs are on the way!

Yeah, Billy is a good friend of ours. Hopefully this is not the end of our collaborations.

Forbidden magic.

You have no idea.

Thanks. That's totally the idea! :D I pour over Japanese making-of books daily trying to glean new secrets behind the techniques their traditional FX films utilize. The more I can do in-camera, the better. Like that PRACTICAL FIREBALL EFFECT we shot a few days ago. >8D

I know that this hasn't been updated in awhile, but I found this and wondered... have you ever considered using an Ultraman morphsuit?

Nah. I like the jacket and jeans look for Sorta. It's his schtick. Besides, after MechaSorta and Sorta vs. Godzilla (Starring Matt Frank THE MOVIE), Sorta's going on the backburner in favor of some original tokusatsu projects we're developing.
