Nice. That dvd would have the shot of Infant Island that runs for longer in the US cut, right? How would you deal with the sound in that case?

That's a good question, to which my response would be that I'll figure it out when I get there. I won't really be sure what I'm dealing with until I actually reach that scene

I see. I wonder how the CM version dealt with it. Probably just snipped the sound for that section, like with the opening credits.

Night of the Living Dead used the jingle and logo? If the jingle was used regardless of its appropriateness to the film, then our GvSM theatrical release would have surely used it.goji1986 wrote:I made the executive decision to place the Walter Reade Logo before the film. Like it's been said, there's no definitive proof (other than a blurb in Kalat's book) that Sea Monster was ever shown in theaters stateside. Even so, the Walter Reade Organization was a distributor for the original Night of the Living Dead in 1968 and the same jingle and logo (albeit in black and white) was used, so I based my decision off of thatGreat Hierophant wrote:Were there no credits on the mythical theatrical GvSM release? Such cuts for TV I can understand, but seems to be a little bare bones for the theater. Also, that jingle..., really goofy for the theater.
SpaceHunterM's SD GtTTM used the logo but not the jingle, instead it used the opening bars of the Ifukube theme. Will you also use that?

Well, I've just gotten through the movie and I'm not sure which shot you meant, since I never encountered one that was significantly longer. There was one that was about a frame longer, but I've encountered plenty of those; I typically just double the last frame. It's pretty much unnoticeable in motion. If there was actually a shot that was a good deal longer, then I guess the Japanese Blu-ray reinstates footage that the Japanese DVD was missing.GodzillaFanatic2001 wrote:I see. EDIT: I assume you're not referring to the last shot?

Honestly, I don't know where it is either. Its supposed to when Mothra is summoned, I think, but I really don't know when. I was hoping you'd know!

Well, the shot of the natives looking on as Mothra left was the one that was just one frame longer. Other than that nothing comes to mind. (shrugs)

If you're using the Siren DVD for the audio, does that correct the splice error you showed in a previous video you uploaded?

It oddly enough has the same audio issue, with all the same sync issues the DVD had. I've still gone ahead and fixed it, though.

I appreciate everyone's support and patience! I've rendered both the MP4 and MKV versions of the project and am currently uploading them to my usual hosting services; I'll also be adding them to a certain private torrent tracker Space Hunter M sent me an invite to.

I'm torrenting the MPV version and I am very happy that I am finally freed from the tyranny of MEGA's bandwidth caps and I can significantly improve my upload to download ratio. A triple Christmas present!

Wow, were you right about the improvement in sound quality. I'm noticing a bunch of extra music in the US version I've never even noticed before, like when the whales are splashing around before Godzilla's first entrance. I didn't realize the music played throughout that entire scene!
