Okay, gotcha. I wasn't sure if you meant good luck in that sense or in the sense of 'Oh god, Alien 3 and Resurrection."

Halloween Month concludes with a look at the night the filmmakers tried to do something different. Season of the Witch was a box office failure due to the lack of Michael. Was this movie justified or were people just immature? Watch to find out.

Since I tricked you into watching a review of Halloween III first, here is your treat, Halloween II. :-) Does Halloween II joins the ranks of another mindless sequel or is it as good as the original? The only way to know is to watch this review as I bring Halloween month to a close, for real this time.

Pardon me for going off-topic, but I just wanted to ask ho you feel about people who complain about the fact Godzilla lost to Mothra in the 60's. People like that are always labeled a bunch of obnoxious crybabies, yet it seems that people like you that have no problem with it at all like to complain about the faults of the Heisei series (I.E beam spamming and giant thighs). How is that more worth complaining over?

Which one of those complaints is truly more degrading for the fandom? I ask this as somebody who has always held a soft spot for the Heisei series.

Sorry for the late reply.

I'm not really sure what you are asking. I personally don't like the lazer beam battles because they get boring to watch after a while. The giant thighs make it so that monsters can barely move, which is why everything resorted to laser beam battles. I don't think anyone ever said there weren't faults with the Showa era. Nor do I see an issue with Mothra beating Godzilla because Godzilla needed to be defeated. It's about the execution.

I honestly feel that Godzilla loosing to Mothra once in the 60' was enough for Toho to prove their point.

Let's finish off Toho's Kaiju movies from the 1990s with a look at Yamato Takeru (also known as Orochi the Eight Headed Dragon). Is this loose remake of The Birth of Japan a masterpiece or pure dog crap? Watch to... no, no, it's definitely dog crap. Watch to learn why though.

In the late 1960s Eiji Tsuburaya created his own studio in order to begin working on shows for television. In 1966, he launched what would become the start of an entire franchise of shows known as Ultraman, whose success would spawn the ever popular Kamen Rider and Super Sentai. Join me as I take a look into the grand daddy of all henshin heroes. However, is Ultraman really an ingenious concept or just something that got lucky?

Tsuburaya had taken Ultraman as far as he could and ended the show after 39 episodes. Due to Ultraman's success, he released Ultra Seven, a successor show that was going to focus more on characters and story as opposed to just being a formulaic show. Was Ultra Seven just that? Or was it nothing more than a cheap imitation? Watch to find out.

Aliens was such a huge success both financially and critically that there was no way a follow up would be able to live up to it. Or is it as dank as its setting? Watch to find out.

After the failure that was Alien 3, Fox decided to return the Alien series to its action roots that was started with Aliens. In order to do so, they hired new comer Joss Whedon to write a script that resurrected Ripley and the Xenomorphs from the dead while a French director was put in charge of the film. Were their efforts successful or does this movie belong in the Cinematic Garbage Can that many other sequels have been tossed into? Watch this review to find out.

After Alien Resurrection, Fox tried their hand at a very not so successful Alien vs Predator spin-off series. This in turn led to Ridley Scott, the original's director, to return to the franchise with plans to make a film that took place decades before Alien. Also, instead of focusing on the Xenomorphs, it would feature the Space Jockey, now known as the Engineer. Was this move a step in the right direction or did Scott not account for the stubborness of die hard Alien fans? Watch this review to find out.

After the wreck that was Ohranger, Toei hired comedy writer Yoshio Urasawa to take the driver's seat of their next Sentai series. Thus, Gekisou Sentai Carranger (Power Rangers Turbo in the US) was born. This series received great wreck-ignition for being a parody of Super Sentai as it brought new life into a tire-d franchise by constantly making fun of the various tropes the series had endured in its 20 year lifespan. However, did this series shift new ideas into the franchise or did it crash and burn? Watch this review to find out.

In addition to Super Sentai and Kamen Rider, Toei ruled the airwaves with a third Tokusatsu franchise known as the Metal Heroes series, which launched in 1982 with Space Sheriff Gavan. Forty years ago Star Wars changed the face of cinema forever with its outstanding special effects and interesting take on a classic fantasy story. It was a huge hit to the point where everyone started to bring out their own copycat in hopes of cashing in on the film's success. This included Toho who decided to remake Atragon but in space. Is this copycat another solid entry in Toho's Kaiju franchise or should they have kept this idea penned to the dead trees it was written on? Watch to find out.

Before Changeman, but after Dynaman came Chou Denshi Bioman. Half Human has an odd history as Toho was apparently embarrassed by the movie due to people getting offended by it, so they have never released it on home video. If you were to review War of The Gargantuas, you should let it be a crossover with another reviewer, since the movie is of too much significance for just one person like you. If it were with anyone, I feel it would be Brandon Tenold (assuming you're not already familiar with him).

Thirty years ago, Kamen Rider Black took to the airwaves on Japanese television and became one of the biggest hits at that point in the Kamen Rider franchise. Not only was this the first show to be set in its own universe, but Kotaro had to deal with the evil forces of the Gorgom Empire on his own without a secondary rider to help him. Is this series well worth its notability or should Gorgom have wiped Kotaro off the face of the Earth? Watch to find out.

Thanks for the vote of confidence. :P

Seriously though, I don't have an issue with crossovers, I just don't know if anyone would really work with my style. I mean, sure, I've done little bits with Kaijuologist and Silver Quill, but those were just little segments in the review. I'm not sure how a full review would work with another person.

I'm familar with Tenold, but he is part of Channel Awesome, so he woudln't have an interest in someone not part of that channel.

Anyway, my Shin review:

After being a writer for various episodes, Hirohisa Soda took on the role as the lead writer to 1982's Dai Sentai Goggle V, where he would continue to be such through 1990's Chikyuu Sentai Fiveman. This meant some great changes were about to occur, but does Goggle V feel like a revolutionary Sentai show or just another face in the crowd? Watch to find out.

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!!

After spending countless years working for Toei on various Toku series like Sentai and Kamen Rider, and a brief time on some video games like Onimusha and Clock Tower, director/designer Keita Amemiya teamed up with writer Yuji Kobayashi to create their own Tokusatsu series geared towards adults. This show became known as Garo and its central theme revolved around a group of warriors known as Makai Knights who battled evil creatures called Horrors. Garo became a phenomenon that has spun off into additional seasons, movies, specials, and even anime series. Is this season worthy of the title Garo or is this a franchise that should have stayed in the shadows? Watch to find out.

I started the year with Ultraman (kind of), so let's end 2017 with a movie that satirizes Ultraman (along other Toku series) titled Big Man Japan. Unlike other movies though, this one acts as a documentary, capturing the day to day life of our poverty driven hero who is hated by all and loved by none. Is hero Daisato truly big, or should he have stayed small? Watch to find out.

After eight series, Hirohisa Soda was finally ready to end his reign as head writer on the Super Sentai franchise. Thus, not only did Chikyuu Sentai Fiveman become his final series, but the series performed so poorly that it's follow up was planned to be the final Sentai series at the time. Is Fiveman that bad? Were audiences just burnt out on the franchise? Or was it just that Soda himself was burnt out and not giving the show his all? Watch to find out.

After the Showa series ended in 1975, it didn't take too long for an American studio to bring Godzilla to the small screen with an animated series. However, this series took massive liberties with the source material by making Godzilla a servant to man and added in a child friendly monster named Godzooky into the mix. Were the weekly episodes featuring Godzilla and the crew of the Calico a grand adventure or should Godzilla have stayed in the waters of Japan? Watch to find out.
