I'll admit I'm not the biggest fan of snapper Gamera either, but I will say that this particular painting is probably one of the better done portrayals of the idea. I saw one that was literally a big snapping turtle with fangs lmao.

Yeah but his design was stylized, like most toku monster who are just big animals. He's not literally a giant turtle. It's really hard to explain,honestly. Look at Gorosaurus, for example. Another simple design but with unique toku elements to it. Designs like this just blend in with other modern monster designs to me. Not a fan.

Eh I'm not so sure. Gamera's design is definitely the most menacing and serious, but not on par with a snapping turtle, there's no beak.
