no, it states that information telling what color and what range her BEAM would be is on the disc.

The character was removed from the game before it was even completed.

EDIT: Alright, how about you take a picture with a camera and post it here?

awaits bullshit excuse as to why you can't....

If you don't have free time, why try to even bother attempting to make something like this?

I will post pics of her tommarow (maybe some guy hacked Simons xbox and got his version of the game somehow?)

Why do you guys keep dragging me into these discussions?

(only kidding. I love it too.)

Ok, so let's talk about what makes "a monster" so we can discuss whether or not Biollante is "on the disk" or not.

Monsters in GStE are made up of several parts:

1 - Skeleton, Texture, and Joint data. These were created by our modeler / riggers.
2 - Animation data. This was by far the biggest part of each monster - 200 animations or so for each character. We had a slew of animators to create these.
3 - Audio data. Much of this was provided by Toho, but we had to get creative and piece together some of our own / remix existing sounds.
4 - Effects data. Most monsters had a beam, some had secondary projectiles as well. Some monsters had some other effects - Biollante had a dirt spray effect a bit like Megalon's burrow effect, for when her tentacle's detached.
5 - The monster file. This was the thing that specified how player controls manipulated and called animations / effects. (Creating these monster files was my primary responsibility for all three games.)

So. It was decided a month (maybe 6 weeks) before we shipped the game that Biollante would be cut. At first we just disabled her from the menu. I, rather irresponsibly, hooked up a code to access her even without the menu. The lead programmer saw her in the game, got very upset (rightfully so!), and deleted all her files from the database, so that she was absolutely gone.

When he did that, he simply deleted the "Biollante" folder, which contained elements #1,2,5 from the above list. This made Biollante absolutely not-playable in any form. This was done on our servers, long before any disks were created.

A while after the game shipped, someone claimed to have looked at the file database on the disk with some hack, and saw "Biollante.edf" This is entirely plausible, as we almost certainly didn't remove Biollante's Acid Sap spray effect defnition from the effects folder. There was also a picture of Biollante that ran in a magazine from an interview which took place before we cut her, and those two things were enough to create an ongoing rumor that Biollante was, in some way playable.

But she's not.

Your right, some how some one got the Unleashed Model (which prior to this, I did not ever seen since I only have a 360, and a PS2) into the game, and also added some codes (I believe some of the codes are very different than STE) so yeah, apparently its just some troll trolling basically with a self claimed biollante included patch

Also Mr. Strange, do you have a video recording device? Is it possible you can show us off how STE Biollante works? (a gameplay demenstration basically, so we can at least be satisfied on what she looks like (even though Unleashed has her, I still like STE more))

Oh dear god Firboshy...

And how can he show us a demonstration for a deleted character? It's gone. No way you can access Biollante. Even someone like Strange.

People that work on the games don't get some super secret version of them with extra material, fireboshy.

Always a welcome surprise to see Simon Strange appear on a forum, even better when it provides more information into the making of the Godzilla games. :huge:

Doesn't sound like there is really anything of interest left on the disc related to Biollante, but the definitive back story on it is interesting to know.

Didn't strange have the only Biollante enabled copy? (unless I am wrong, as he has stated it in his interview for G:STE)

Mr. Strange, absolutely wonderful to see you again :D

Glad to finally get the concrete clarification on Biollante. I love to hear all the technical background data information.

No, no such copy exists any more. During development of G:StE we each had a special xbox development kit which stored local files. I never deleted Biollante off my dev kit, so for a year / year and a half I had a playable version of G:StE with Biollante on my dev kit (Discs cannot be made from a dev kit, and they cannot legally leave the business premises.)

However, that was now.. 7 years ago? That dev kit almost certainly no longer exists. Nobody is making original Xbox games anymore.

Shame, sad to hear STE Biollante's lost forever.

Were there any design differences between STE!Biollante and GU!Biollante?

Thats a shame to know
I have just 4 more questions, will pipeworks and atari produce another Godzilla Game? will it be released after the Legendary Pictures film? Are you guys able to reuse all the licences for the characters? And will you guys use your other 3 Unleashed creations (lightning bug, the visitor, and fire lion) in it?

Sorry for asking much, just need to know, alot of this are just simple questions (not really spoilers except the last one)

I'm about 100% sure that Atari no longert has the license to Godzilla anymore, so they wouldn't be making another one, unless they get the license again. The likelyhood that "Lightning Bug", "The Visitor" or "Fire Lion" would be added as they were just ideas (I think) of new monsters to be added to G:U, but Krystalak and Obsidius were the monsters added instead.

Also, it's nice to meet you Mr. Strange.

That sucks, I was kind of hoping for a Remake of G:DAMM, but looks like its not gonna happen

Also Varan, who do you think has the likeliest chance to be the next developer for Godzilla games

It's perfectly plausible Atari renewed the license. I distinctly remember before GU's announcement it had been considered a "done deal" because the licensed was due to expire at the end of 2006.

Well if they did, I hope that before they do make a 4th godzilla game, that they remake G:DAMM first
