HBD GODZILLA!

Commissioned artwork. I was asked to design and model a deep sea giant monster for an upcoming thesis short film. These are images of that design process. The approach to the creature Atoyo was to combine several attributes of deep sea creatures into one big monster without it looking too much like any particular one. It also needed to move about on land as well as be graceful in the ocean. I hope to have more information about the film as it develops. ATOYO © JP Jaramillo / Blue Light Studios.

Looks superb. Especially like the first image, seems so alien yet also something that could crawl out from the depths of the sea. Great job! :)

Looks a lot like a coral reef.
If it had a coral like texture it could hide in plain sight on the ocean floor. And ambush things when they swim by.
Like unsuspecting divers.

That's truly an amazing design there. Would love to see that brought to life in film.

I really appreciate the pincers and how they're built into the scythes. They're built on in a way where they're still able to be used, and it's really cool. Moving quickly on land, could it just use its claws and some slithering?

My Godzilla Hybrid model in Keyshot (G-2000 blended with G-2014). I was experimenting with render styles. I'm really trying to figure things out. I was going for a cinematic feel. That's why it's so dark. Arial view, as if from a helicopter. modeled in zBrush.

He looks amazing in albino form! I think he'd look terrible after a fight, though. Blood would show up all over him, and he'd look really beaten, although he'd already healed. Might make people less afraid, and allow him to win faster, but less intimidating is a loss for goji I think :D

Updated my SHIN GHIDORAH concept. It's still an evolving work in progress. Things may change slightly, or completely over time as I flesh out new ideas. Once I get the concept nailed, I can then start finessing and finalizing the sculpt. It's a mess right now. These atmospheric renders are just to convey the attitude I'm going for, but hide a lot of the subtle details that are actually there.
