Mhidra Raids Again
Chapter 1: Goddess
New York Museum of Modern Art, 12 pm
"And if you come this way, you'll see our new Monster World exhibit." said the tour guide, a beautiful, brown haired, Japanese-American woman, directing the group to several statues and pictures from Monster World, most from when it was still Australia and people lived there.
"As you may well of heard, in 1999, Monster World was created as a way to keep monsters in a controlled area for them to live, while keeping the monsters out of human cities. Of course the people of Australia were relocated and now the monster attacks on cities have been minimized to almost none." she said. A girl at the back of the group raised his hand. "Ah a student in our group, what is your question."
The girl was a average heighted white girl with long, dark-brown hair and a figure that would make the average teenage male's eyes pop out of his head.
"My name is Sage Mercer, Cody Mercer, was one of the soldiers that help build Monster World in 1999, he was my father." she said with pride.
Sage walked up and took picture of the photos and artifacts. She paused at one picture that depicted a creature that was all to familiar to her, Mhidra. Mhidra was in Phoenix form battling a creature resembling a giant squid and there were symbols which showed some type of storm. "What's this?"
Jill looked closely. "I believe the natives called it Iyda." she said. "They say that a Mhidra defeated it hundreds of years ago but they don't know much about that monster or if it was the same Mhidra, these artifact was only just released to the public since Mhidra first appeared. They said Iyda was a creature that could control the weather, creating powerful storms that ravaged the world until Mhidra finally vanquished it. Some legends say Iyda is a goddess."
"A goddess?"
"Yes, a Storm Goddess. Legend has it that she lived in the center of a devastating typhoon that, at the pick of her power, covered the entire planet to the point that the sun never shown and the sea swallowed up the land by from the rain."
"That's interesting." said Sage, taking a picture of the mural. "And this creature probably existed, the Monster legends are normally true."
"You have a point, we never thought of that." said Jill. "Whether or not this creature was a goddess, we'll never know.
Project Celsius
Pacific Ocean, 3:15 pm
On a remote island, mankind was preparing for what they thought would be their greatest achievement. Ted Mercer was a scientist working for the GDF and the brother of the late Cody Mercer. The GDF's request was simple, create something that could be used as an intimidating weapon and could be put to work for the benefit of mankind. Ted thought of many ideas before finding the one they had chosen and perfected on this. No one knew of its existence outside the GDF and a few high ranking experts. Ted hadn't even been able to tell his wife and kids what he was working on that was so important. The phone in his office rang. The caller id told him it was his wife. "Hello Eva, or should I say good day what's going on?" asks Ted.
"I got that grant to keep up my research." said Eva, Eva was a Cryptozoologist and was currently in Canada, she was trying to get a grant to continue searching for Mhidra and other giant or mythological animals and apparently she got it.
"Great, good luck. How's the boy doing?"
"Matt? He's doing great, he really likes it down here."
"Big surprise, he always loved monsters."
"Yeah, think you'll be able to come down this weekend?"
"Sorry, we're doing some very important experiments that I have to be here for."
"Ok, love you."
"Love you to. Bye." said Ted.
"Sir, a man is here to see you." said his secretary over the intercom.
"What does he want?"
"I don't know but he says he's from the GDF."
"Send him in."
The door opens and in walks a gray haired white man in a military outfit. "Hello Dr. Mercer." said the man.
"Hello Mr.…"
"General Samson."
"Ok, general. Where is the normal inspecting general?"
"General Gordon was unable to make it this time, I was sent in his place."
"I see."
"I was only told the basics of Project Celsius, mind showing me around?"
"Fine, follow me." said Ted, he thought it was strange that Samson hadn't been informed completely on the project but then again it was top secret.
The two got up and Ted lead Samson through the door. "As you've probably been told, Project Celsius was created to create something that the mere threat of being used would subdue aggressors but at the same time could be used to help peaceful nations."
"I see and what was this weapon?"
"Follow me."
They walk into the chamber containing a massive dish-like device and many scientists. On the side of the dish was C.E.L.S.I.U.S. "C.E.L.S.I.U.S?" asks Samson.
"Counter Eight Level States Under Skies ." said Ted
"Huh?"
"A weather control machine. The workers nicknamed it Father Nature."
"Does it work?"
"Yes. You are in luck, we were just about to test it. Men please turn on the machine."
The scientists get to work on the calculations. The roof above the dish opens and the dish heaves into the sky, revealing the heavy machinery below it. "How does it work?" asks Samson.
"Depends on what type of weather you want, we're going to create a high level tropical storm using a maser cannon set to high temperature." said Ted.
"Maser?"
"An energy cannon the Japanese developed in secret in case another monster like Godzilla appears. It has variable temperatures. We're going to use a high temp to cause the type of conditions in the atmosphere to cause the tropical storm. Then we reverse it with a low temp before the storm gets to strong. We also use the high temperature beam to disperse storm clouds but we weaken the beam so that it doesn't reach the height to cause storms, it take precise measurements and-"
"Just start the test."
Yellow energy builds in the cannon. The maser beam fires into the sky. Clouds disperse as the beam burns high into the sky. Once the beam stops, the winds increase rapidly and rain falls heavily to the ground as black clouds form in the sky. "And their you have it, a man-made storm."
"Amazing."
On the west side of the island, rock gives way. A massive rock slide is triggered. As it plunges into the sea, it hits something deep below the surface. A red an blue turtle opened it's eyes. He had been sleeping here for a long time, 4 months since the epic battle with Ketsu-Jin, 5 months since his return.
This island was once his home but time and humans had changed the land so much. He had slept here to remind him self of what he lost. A bolder struck his head, the creature stirred. His orange and blue eyes pop open and he lifts himself from the ground. He let's a roar, sending torrents of bubbles to the surface. His eyes light up and a stream of fire spouts from his mouth.
Blue energy charges into the cannon. A beam of very low temperature energy fires into the storm, the powerful storm stops and white clouds cover the sky. "Amazing." said Patrick.
"I know, it's an amazing accomplishment." said Ted, grinning from ear to ear, unknowing of what's his experiment had unleashed.
Challenger Deep, 4 pm
The Challenger Deep, the deepest point on earth is a place humans know less about than even the most distant galaxies. The GDF submarine, named White Whale after the legendary while sperm whale Mobi Dick, was sent here to research. "Captain Moore, we've reached the bottom." reported the man in front of the sonar.
"Good, keep your eye on the sonar, after all there may be some kind of kaiju down here and I'd like to know its coming in time to prepare the torpedoes." replied the captain. Like they'd do much to a kaiju. he thought. Even though it was a research vessel, the White Whale had weapons for that very reason, though nothing ever did anything against most of the kaiju that appeared, not even the most advanced weapons known to man.
They continued along for a few hours, reporting several new species to the vessel that floated almost seven miles above.
"Well people I'd say we can call it a day, prepare to head topside." he said.
Suddenly, the sonar started beeping rapidly. "Sir large object on sonar! Its coming quick!" reported the sonar man.
Moore went to the periscope and looked out. About 100 meters away was a creature resembling a 70 foot version of a great white, he knew what it was. "Megalodon, it looks like those scientists were right, its still alive done here." he said.
"Sir, its too close to avoid impact!"
"Brace for collision, flood torpedo tubes 1 and 2, prepare for counter attack!" They all braced for the impact. The Meg slammed its dorsal fin into the lower part of the sub's hull. Sparks flew from the computers and people were thrown from their stations. "Status report!"
"Two chambers flooded but the hull is holding." reported one of the men.
"Fire torpedoes!"
The sub turned to face the giant shark and fired its torpedoes. The Meg tired to avoid but the weapons collided and destroyed it in a cloud of blood and flesh. The canyon wall next to the creature collapsed. "Target destroyed sir!" reported the sonar man.
"Good, I wish we didn't have to but better it than us, report this to the surface." ordered Moore. A loud sound resembling a whale call mixed with some unearthly screech resonated through the hull. "What the heck was that?"
"Sir, a large object just appeared on sonar! Sir its bigger than the Meg!"
Moore went back to the periscope and saw something startling. Before the sub was a massive whirlpool, at least the size of Godzilla. Within it was a glowing orb resembling an eye, more smaller glowing orbs in lines that look like long tendrils, some more that outlined a back and tail. Another screech was given off by the creature within the mass of twisting water. "It's a kaiju of some kind. Alert the surface then fire!" A few minutes later the sub fired two torpedoes.
Two blue, liquid like tendrils came from the whirlpool and batted away the missiles. The eye orb turned bright red and a stream of red energy fired from it. "Evasive maneuvers!" order Moore. They managed to avoid the blast which collided with a canyon wall and blew it to bits. The creature in the whirl pool swung its arm and another smaller whirlpool spawned and engulfed the sub. The crew managed to stabilize but couldn't move. "Get us out of-" Moore was interrupted by the sonar indicating the kaiju was approaching rapidly. The crews last site was of two tusk-like objects tearing into the control room. Those who weren't killed instantly from the immense pressure increase drown or were killed moments later when the sub imploded.
The beast let out another roar and began to rise from the trench, still shrouded in its whirlpool. It rose rapidly, when it reach the surface, the whirlpool turned into a waterspout. The surface crew covered themselves to avoid the now immense storm. The creature noticed the small boat and let out a roar as it swung its arms downwards and lightning surged down from the sky, blowing the ship to bits. The monster let out an almost laughing roar as it spread its arms out as it rose into the storm, causing the waterspout to expand until it was a massive typhoon. The beast then turned in the direction of The United States and took its storm towards it.
