Bizarre Prehistory Discussion

Post by DinoMaster »

And there's the intro! Ladies, Gentlemen, and eldritch abominations, may I present my latest project. In short, it is a tale very similar in a way to Walking with Dinosaurs. I've always wanted to go and work on a prehistory mockudrama thing, to present new things that people may not have seen.

As for now, it's only the prolouge. I will be posting the first story soon, hopefully tomorrow. Just need to edit a few more things, and it'll be good to go.

Oooooo, I shall be keeping an eye on this. Loved the Walking With... series.

This is going to be a fun read. Loved the Walking With... series, so I'm eager to see this story's progress.

YES! I write a very descriptive, detailed style. But your style was a pleasant surprise, too! Keep up it!

Nicely done my friend! Like what Bdog said, sorta like the Walking with series.

I can't wait to see more.

So, I have a bit of an announcement to make. I haven't been writing the next chapter down well, it's been like forcing it through a grinder. In such, the quality is down and urge to work on it is low. That sucks overall for the fun of writing and the reading part for you guys. So here's the fun part. You, yes you reading this one right now, get a choice in what appears next! The list that I have below are ones that had been cut for simplicity's sake, similar to others, or too well known, but would be fun to write. In such, please select one and bold your answer in a post below. I'd put it in a poll, but I don't know how. The one with the most votes, wins. These don't really effect the others that are still going to come out.

Options

Pleistocene Australia: Megalania, demon ducks of doom, etc.

Interglacial Ice Age Europe: Giant elephants, european hippos, dirk toothed cats, etc.

Jurassic China: Omeisaurus, Yangchuanosaurus, etc.

Cretaceous Mongolia, Nemget Formation: Deinocheirus, Tarbosaurus, Therizinosaurus, etc.

I vote for Cretaceous Mongolia. Tarbosaurus made that choice for me, otherwise I would go for the Pleistocene Australia for the demon birds.

I'm interested in the Interglacial Ice Age. I would love to see more stories set in a cold, dark atmosphere type of setting.

Because I had no idea that there was a time when waterfowl decided to imitate the Terror Birds until today.

Oh, and look what came back. It's a bit of a smaller chapter, but I like it.

Kinda guessed that the mystery predators where Nothosaurus...es when you posted the preview. Nice to see placodonts get some attention as well, they are criminally underutilized (seriously, when the actual hell has there been a placodont in any form of media?).

Thanks! I had originally been planning on a few other species to be seen, but when I found out by accident that Cyamodus fossils had been found in the stomach regions of Lariosaurus, I couldn't pass.

this is prolly my favorite read on TK; short, educational and full of dinosaurs. I'm ecstatic for the next chapter!
