I still think this place should become a user group, it's dishearting to see good stories with efforts put into them get buried by shitty stories.

It's not the end of the world. We need to be supportive, regardless of user group status or not. We all started somewhere. And if someone's willing to take constructive criticism, then can we really be all that upset? Well, we could be, but we shouldn't. So lend a helping hand to a fellow writer. It all adds up to a happier community! ^_^

Since Yabs has told me he'll be implementing them today, I don't see why I can't let you all in on it.


We're Gonna implement a "Beginning Writers" sub-section for starting writers, we'll move all supplemental materials to aid good writing there. For people to be allowed to post in the main section of the FF section, they'll need to create -and complete- three stories that receive positive reception. Might allow some workshops come up every now and then, too.


Also, we're going to introduce a "Weekly Feature" where people who publish particularly good work that week get their fan-fic highlighted for everyone to see. That way, some competition will be put in to induce creativity and quality writing so as to be featured.

I like it! And for the main section one, can writers show stories they have already completed? Or do have to create three new stories?

Nah. That'd be for beginning writers, of which you are not.

Three stories, at least from my own personal experience, took well over a year. If someone proves exceptionally well with only a story or two under their belt, would they be permitted in? Spending that much time in the Beginner's section would feel kinda degrading.
