Heroes.

Defenders.

Protectors.

Such tragic beings they are. Blind pawns with an expiration date burned upon their foreheads. Hive minded entities fighting for a false hope, refusing to educate themselves and acknowledge the real truth.

Within the middle of a mass crater rested a throne, a throne structured from the lifeless corpse of fallen monsters who dared show defiance, and threatened to stop the grand showcasing of a chaotic force. Spirit filled Earth Defender, Anguirus. The Eighth Wonder of the World, King Kong. The Earth's Dark Warrior, Battra. And the Guardian of the Universe, Gamera. These powerful forces of nature, were now nothing but mere embodiments of furniture. The spiked carapace of Anguirus was now spindle, while Gamera's massive ribcage rested as the top, mid, and lower rail. The arm supports were the monstrous legs of Kong, the stretcher were selective parts of Battra's exoskeleton. The seat held compressed layers of skin and bones, with Kong's fur being the cover of the seat itself. The actual arms of the throne themselves were the legs of Gamera with the end of them being the skulls of Anguirus and Kong.

Tap. Tap. Tap. Tap.

Jet black claws of a nightmarish left hand slowly pecked onto the cracked skull of Kong within a steady manner. Crimson eyes blazed through the darkness of the night, observing the destruction of a city that was the result of its might and the battles it had encountered within it. A city that held skyscrapers crafted from the stems of hope and determination, a city that held the whispers of a bright future. To the world, this city was known as
Tokyo. But now it was only known as a graveyard of ended dreams and crushed lives. Now, it was only known as the dark kingdom of Monster X.

Tokyo, tainted with massive piles of rubble, rotted bodies of poor innocent casualties, thick clouds of towering smoke, and a thick coating of silence that sung sweet songs of death. It was Heaven on earth.

However, despite such a wonderful sanctuary, the pale white nightmare knew he wouldn't be able to enjoy it for long. Currently the entity was awaiting the arrival of his next victim. Over the past hour, Monster X had been sensing the approach of a speeding obstacle that was heading toward his direction. He knew that it wasn't the pathetic insects known as humans, they had abandon the city weeks ago since his reign. And the possibility of mechanical weaponry was unlikely as well. He doubted the arrival of another earth monster, with the recent news of him killing Gamera, only a creature weary of living would be foolish enough to come and challenge him.

Tap. Tap. Tap. Tap.

Then what?

What was approaching toward his kingdom?

From behind the seated fiend the answer rained down from the dark clouds above. A powerful sunburst tinted beam slashed though the seemingly endless abyss, streaming directly toward Monster X with the intention of striking it down! To such an answer, the galactic demon calmly replied by casually brushing it aside from a single swipe of his long devilish twin tails. Causing the mighty beam to disperse in a whimpering flare. Curling his tails slowly back to the bottom of his feet, Monster X deeply growled as the dark skies light up in multiple flashes of sunburst colored lights, pushing away the thick covers of darkness in mere moments. Jet black claws slowly halted their tapping as the holy flashes of light birthed an armored warrior.

An armored warrior that fought to maintain the balance of peace, and slayed in the honor of justice. Through the combined forces of the Sword of Snake Kerosign, Oto, and the sacred mirror, the holy slayer Utsumo Ikusagami stood before Monster X, and gave forth challenge to him!

Landing upon the scarred ground of ash and rubble, surges of energy coursed around the gold and silver plates of the righteous titan. Ikusagami felt a sense of fury swelling up himself. To see brave defenders of the earth now demoted to such a disrespecting outcome. To serve only as a throne of fallen warriors for their destroyer to take seat upon. If they were visible, vengeful eyes of rage would be seen glaring heavily upon the skeletal demon. Ikusagmai refused to gaze upon the land around him, finding that acknowledging such destruction would only enrage him even more. None of that was called for due to the fact that Ikusagami had already decided to rid the universe of this horrifying entity.

Slowly, the graceful embrace of gravity lifted its master from his throne, gently levitating the terrible being over to the firmly stood challenger. Lowering down gracefully, small plume clouds of dust and ash humbly kissed his feet before fading away from his presence. A low hiss bellowed from his vocals as a choking thick fog of bone chilling breath calmly escaped its maw. Monster X stood several inches away from kusagami, face to face. He heard tales of the peace bringer throughout his travels within the stars, but only scoffed at it with indifference. Utsumo Ikusagami, a god? He was nothing. Nothing but a weak man behind a suit of armor trying to play a role he could never fill. Nothing but another blind pawn. And after tonight, Monster X was going to educate the universe, in just how childish it was to praise an insect as such.

Within a blink of a moment, skeletal claws and metallic hands crushed against each other, locking themselves in a grappling struggle of strength and will. The monstrous pressure of force applied from each side as they drove their feet into the ground, causing the lifeless land of Japan to quake greatly. The screeching sound of armor being forcefully bent back with extreme force loudly echoed as skeletal claws pressed downward. A heavy rumble of a thud soon followed after. With mere strength alone, Monster X had managed to slowly force the powerful Utsumo Ikusagami down on one knee!

Taking advantage of the situation, the nightmare begun to slightly turn the position of his left foot, then sharply jerked his leg upward, ramming his knee straight into the armored being's face. Thick trails of ash and dust rose from the ground as the warrior roughly slid across the soil several feet away from his original standing. A brief pause washed over Ikusagami as he rose slightly from the ground, quickly taking a knee as it looked onto the galactic beast. Reaching up, the mighty entity felt his face, upon the right side there was a heavy dent, a dent that bared a near perfect impression of the attacker's knee.

Thunderous thuds echoed once more as the space demon charged quickly toward the kneeling knight, harmful intent filling its dark mind like a flash flood.

Crimson eyes flickered in molten gold, a sign that Ikusagami instinctively reacted to by summoning a shield of energy, deflecting multiple streaks of golden energy as they slithered directly at him. Small explosions and scraps of ash swirled around the brave hero as the shield continuing deflecting barrages of Monster X's gravity beams. With the hero's field of vision clouded the fiend leaped over the holy entity, constricting its black twin tails around its armored neck only to toss the warrior over his head like a mere toy as he landed on all fours in a firm crouch .

Seeing a perfect opening, crimson eyes flickered molten gold once more, releasing a fresh barrage of gravity beams that heavily consumed Ikusagami in a frenzy of powerful explosive strikes. In moments, a smoldering Ikusagami greatly crashed against the thick shell of the earth, flipping over in constant rolls before slamming into the decaying tarnished corpse of Gamera. A twisted cackle bellowed from the living skeleton, it wanted the so called 'Sun God' to take a good look at himself, and the monstrous bodies that rotted around him. This was the fate of challenging him and his power, a grueling tragic death. A fate that Monster X personally promised to Utsumo Ikusagmai.

Small blue spores of energy lightly tainted the ground, falling off the once brightly shined armor, now there were only burnt deep dents. The titan managed to block most of the explosions caused by his opponent's powerful attack, using his shield in mid-air to reduce any critical damage. However due to taking the first wave of gravity beams before being thrown, his shield wasn't strong enough to handle both a second wave and the explosions that were born from it. From such great force, it inevitably caused his shield to be destroyed.

Slowly the warrior lifted himself up, lightly using the corpse of the Guardian of the Universe as a crutch, Ikusagami had to sadly acknowledge his opponent.

The Xilien creature was physically strong, and surprisingly fast with semi indications of being agile. It did not take long for the Sun God to understand that he lacked most of the traits Monster X displayed recently. The power he wore and wielded only allowed high defense and a few powerful arsenals of abilities, but the tradeoff was giving up his speed and agility in return. If given enough time, this extraterrestrial nightmare could possibly prove to be a troublesome problem.

With such a realization, Ikusagami wasn't going to give Monster X the opportunity to take the advantage over it!

Surges of angelic energy crawled around the metal fighter, curling in swift rays of light into the palm of the entity's right palm, a large heavenly sword was brought into existence. The skeletal demon quickly stood, no longer baring the physical and vocal expressions of cockiness. He sensed the dangerous potential hidden within the blade, even more so, he understood that such a weapon could end the life of even the most mightiest of beings. Possibly, even that of a god. At least, that's what he heard across his travels. Close combat was looking less friendly as an option, he would need to be careful. One mistake, could very well be his last.

Gazing down upon the corpse of Gamera, Ikusagami gave the fallen defender a silent moment of respect. Within that moment, the Sun God gazed upon the fallen defenders, giving each and every one of them respectful moments of peace. From that point on, the soldier of light forged a promise to avenge them, to avenge them and all those who had perished in the destruction of Monster X. Respectfully, the god-like entity silently prayed to the guardian, asking for the use of its shell before grabbing the carapace and using it as a shield. A low mocking scoff bellowed from Monster X, honestly, a sword and a shield? How human.

Calmly gesturing the galactic demon to come, Monster X without hesitation charged forth in acceptance at the newly equipped protector. Raising his sword, Ikusagmai awaited the charging unknown as he approached closer and closer. Seeing the moment to strike, the warrior horizontally swung his blade, only to witness Monster X duke effortlessly. Making up for the missed attempt, the top edge of the massive shell heavily rammed against the demon's throat, earning a sharp choking sound from the dark being. With the unknown reeling back and painfully gasping in a shallow shriek, Ikusgami sent surges of energy around his shield before deeply crashing the objecting across the left side of his face, causing the demon to stumble and fall backward onto the ground.
Sharp sensations of pain slashed through icy nerves, holy steel ripping and tearing through layers of bone like armor and jet black flesh. Geysers of green blood burst lively from freshly made wounds. The rotted smell of burnt flesh tainted the air as thick streams of sunburst energy blasted hotly in constant strikes. The rightful punishment of Monster X was made known as gargled shrieks shredded the skies in massive bellows of agony and pain. As Monster X had promised hellish death to the divine warrior, Utsumo Ikusagmai promised godly judgment to the wicked chaos!

Withdrawing his arm slowly, Ikusagami drew back his mighty sword, his damaged armor held dripping splatters of green blood. Taking a few steps back, the protector looked upon a fallen Monster X. Its smoking chest held multiple slashes. Thick pale white armor were crumbled and cracked. A massive scar traveled across the left side of the corrupted entity's skeletal face. Rivers of blood lightly flowed from the cold veins of the demon's body. The Sun God had slayed chaos, and with that, turned and begun to walk away. Righteous victory had been claimed!

If only fate had let such a claim be true...

A sinister sense of extreme danger manifested into the air, its foul nature rippled widely across the grim graveyard as the source it emitted from slowly stirred. And very soon, hauntingly rose from the bloody pool it had laid within. Five crimson eyes blazed brightly with life, quickly laying themselves upon the back of the armored being. Ikusagami did not need to turn, nor did he need to look. He understood that Monster X stood once more with life. The quivering rattle of his plated hands, a rattle driven by the forces of fear calmly told the god this. But it did not make sense...

This fear.

It did not make sense!

Slowly, the space demon took one step forward, to which Ikusagami unknowingly found himself quickly turning and taking a step back. Another demonic sole planted itself forward, only to cause another angelic sole to plant itself back.

Aiming his heavenly weapon at the scarred hole that carried the fiend's sickeningly beating heart. The rattling rings of fear quickly turned into rattling rings of fury. This offspring of darkness! This scum of the abyss! Slayed, rotted, a lifeless corpse! How could such a thing still stand before a god with sinful eyes of indifference! Good always triumphs over evil! Peace always reigned over Chaos! As the protector of life...No, as the Sun God of the Divine Light! Anything that dared to threaten the balance of the world will face the righteous smite of justice!

New waves of energy surged around his body, moments later, a pair of razor golden wings were summoned from the warrior's back. A planned had formed within its thoughts, it wasn't flawless, nor was it perfect, but it was a plan that promised the glorious chance of vanquishing Monster X. Thunderous quakes sounded as the rushing movement of Ikusagami were made known, the Xilien beast planted his soles firmly against the earth, bracing itself for any impact or attack that launched his way. But without any hint or sign, the armored hero greatly leaped into the air, taking flight and soar into the sky freely. Turning himself slightly. Ikunsagami hovered twenty meters above his opponent. Gazing around the destroyed land, the Sun God searched for the key that would allow him victory. Directly northeast of the current location that he and Monster X shared, stood four damaged yet fully structured skyscrapers. Giving an estimated the buildings were at least nine hundred meters in height. It was perfect, for it was the key.

With great hast, the protector quickly flew toward the four man-made towers, to which Monster X positioned himself in a slightly leaned pose, then launched himself in a burst of built up body strength, following his foe in a hot pursuit as he raced through the city. An earned reaction Ikusagami knew would unfold.

As the towers grew larger and larger by every passing mile of distance, the Sun God held out his arm with blade in hand as he came close to the structures. The placement of the buildings formed a large square in shape and size, retracting his arm back slightly, Ikusamgami prepared himself as he flew to the first tower. Just as he prepared to strike, molten snakes of gold beams struck against the warrior's back, causing him to spiral out of control within the air before crash landing in the center of the four skyscrapers, shaking them wildly. Scorching heat, shards of overwhelming pain, blurred vision of a foggy daze. This was all the entity could feel and see. Turning his gaze slightly, the sight of a smoldering golden wing made of blades rested roughly next him. Small burnt scraps of armor laid onto the decayed soil. Time, perception, everything felt slow and still. Suddenly, the giant found himself raising upward, almost as if being lifted. Before his dull senses could recover his gaze met the soulless glare of crimson eyes.

Such blazing eyes. The indifference they held.

Releasing the head of the armored giant, Monster X allowed his challenger's gaze to meet the ground once more. Turning his back, the creature began slowly walking away. Thunderous footsteps, softly they rumbled, lightly they quaked. Raising his head, Utsumo Ikusagmai witnessed this very action. It...Was It showing him pity? Was he no longer deemed a challenge? No, this couldn't be happening. Ear splitting screeches of rusted steel echoed as the weakened protector struggled to force himself off the ground. Monster X paused, then looked over his right shoulder as he watched, his eyes no longer holding a sense of interest or care. Small surges of energy struggled to compress a form, desperately trying to cling to the format of a spear within Ikusagami's left hand.

Upon seeing this attempt, the pale white nightmare felt a sense of disappointment. This foe was no different from the rest that had challenged him. Trying to play a role they could never fill. Challenging forces that were stronger than themselves, placing their life on the line. And for what? What goal did they hope to accomplish? Peace? A half baked daydream like that could only exist within a child's fairytale. Fighting to obtain peace or any kind of stability, in general was self granting suicide. There will always be forces stronger than one-self, there will always be struggles between Good and Evil. The cycle is never ending, only life forms too immature to accept that blood stain truth will meet an inevitable end. That was the tragedy in being a hero, a protector, or a defender. That was the truth.

A truth that only a few acknowledge, but many ignore.

Finally forming a spear of tremendous energy, Ikusagami weakly raised himself onto both of his knees before moving his arm slightly back. He was going to end it all. He was going to establish peace! Just as the great warrior heaved his hand forward, his form suddenly shook, a disperse shower of energy shattered away from the Sun God's palm. The protector's mighty spear had vanished, but in its place another weapon that was born from him had signaled its presence. Ikusagami could feel it, he could feel it in his heart. And there, did his heavenly blade rested. Deeply within his foundation. His blade had run through his armor, piercing out from the very back of it. Monster X remained standing where he was, he did not move nor displayed any hints of it.

Well...Mostly.

A light trail of dust emitted from the the tip of his twin tails, the same dust that also tainted the hilt of the blade that rested within the Sun God. Monster X had sharply thrown Ikusagami's blade directly through the warrior's heart!

Life slowly leaked from the damaged knight as the chilling fangs of death sunk into his dying core, the mighty defender of the earth gracefully fell back then settled onto the ground. How did this happen? How could his plan have crumbled? How could he, the Sun God, Utsumo Ikusagmai fall at the hands of evil? Without notice, Ikusagami once more found crimson eyes looking down upon him. Monster X had noticed his opponent's plan, it was somewhat obvious and fairly simple. Then again, he was dealing with a mere insect. Trying to lure him into the center of the four buildings, only to be crushed to death by the towers as his foe slashed them down. Monster X had to admit, the plan itself sounded decent, especially when given the fact that he was gravely injured and weakened. If anything, if the space demon blindly continued running after his opponent, he would have been too exhausted and drained to get himself out of range if the buildings were to have collapsed and fell. And from that, death would have been certain. But none the less, the Sun God's plan did not work.

Truth be told, the Xilien beast had a plan of his very own. But within its purest form, it was more of a hypothesis. And he formed it from the very beginning. The nightmare acknowledged that he could not truthfully kill the warrior with his own current power and abilities. The gap was too huge. The creature could damage it, but never kill. Fortunately Monster X knew that the key that would possibly allow him victory, came in the form of a sword. A powerful weapon that held the dangerous killing potential of slaying the most mightiest of beings. Possibly even a god. A weapon of such great power, if it were birthed from a god then surely it could kill one as well. Maybe even the caster itself. And that was how the demon saw his window of possible victory, killing a godly entity with its own power. The only problem that held him from the fruits of glory was obtaining the sword itself.

Only when Ikusagami summoned forth his blade did Monster X calculated his plan. Damage the being as much as possible. However, let his opponent unleash a great assault against him. Allow his opponent to use up most of his strength if possible, while casting the false illusion of a granted victory. And then, cause a ripple within his attacker's fate, drowning them in a false sense of assurance.. From there on, calmly wait for an opening to attack, and when one opens then strike without hesitation! And as such with any fallen knight with a powerful sword but a worn shield, what is the first thing that must be taken away from them first? Overall, it was a risky plan that could have cost the dark entity his life. But it appeared that fate had different plans in mind.

Grabbing onto the hilt of the blade, Monster X ripped it from the fallen Sun God's chest, it was faint, very faint, but the sound of something flowing freely gently whispered. The thick armor now bared a hole within it, but nothing but darkness could be seen. It did not matter. The fallen protector was dying, a realization that the fiend happily relished in. Turning away, Monster X walked to each massive skyscraper. Casually dragging the sharp edges of the sword against the fragile structures, and without trouble slashed through each one effortlessly.

Low moans of bending iron and steel shrieked loudly in waves. A near lifeless Ikusagami weakly gazed up into the darkness of the dusk sky. A sudden down pour of broken glass rain down upon him, and then a new darkness loomed over him. The skyscrapers were collapsing. The defender couldn't deny it, he had failed the earth, he had let all forms of life down. In seconds the down pour intensified, raining down massive scraps of steel and debris. But through it all, Utsumo Ikusagami saw a small light through the crushing layer of darkness that proceeded to devour him. A small angelic light that felt warm yet familiar. Within it the warrior watched as a women was born from the light. The beautiful female gently laid a warm smile upon him as the jaws of death slowly closed.

Oto...

She was waiting for him.

A large mushroom cloud of ash and dust shot up toward into heavens. The crushing sound of piled steel and iron rung in a booming whimper. Watching from a safe distance, Monster X gazed upon the recent burial of Utsumo Ikusagmai. A low growl groaned from the entity's closed maw before turning away and advancing back toward his throne. Taking his rightful seating.

Tap. Tap. Tap. Tap.

Jet black claws of a nightmarish left hand slowly tapped against the crack skull of Kong within a steady manner. Directing his crimson gaze down at his right hand, the skeletal demon silently observed his newly prized trophy. The blade of Utsumo Ikusagami.

Heroes.

Defenders.

Protectors.

Such tragic beings they are...
