Showa Gyaos vs Super Gyaos

Postby Kaiju-King42 » Tue Apr 24, 2012 11:37 pm

Showa Gyaos: http://monsterarchives.proboards.com/in ... thread=160

vs

Super Gyaos: http://www.tohokingdom.com/kaiju/gyaos.htm#s

Rules:
Midnight, in New York City.
No retreats.

Verdict: Both are quite nasty little critters, but I'm gonna give the slight edge to Super Gyaos due to his crazy flight abilities. If this turns into a dog fight, Super Gyaos will have the advantage.

Super Gyaos overpoweres Showa Gyaos in both size and flight.

The one thing Showa Gyaos has that the other doesn't is the ability to regenerate any damage. Does that include lost limbs? If it can heal them too, the battle may stretch further, especially since Super Gyaos can't regenerate I'm finding here. So if Showa Gyaos manages to severely harm its counterpart in some way with its beam, it may become victorious.

That's a bit maybe though.

Size isn't an issue FO. All these matches are auto scaled.

Super Gyaos is pretty screwed here. I mean honestly, Super Gyaos's Sonic Beam is pretty pathetic compared to Showa's which was actually cut through Gamera. Now take into effect Super Gyaos' terrible durability, Showa Gyaos is superior.

Pretty much. There's also the fact that Showa Gyaos just loves to spam the hell out of his Sonic Cutter.

Really? I guess the healing factor would give him a slight advantage, but I think Super Gyoas would take it. Dude survived in outer space!

It's late, I'm beat, and I've got little kids to make fun of...

Showa Gyaos's healing factor is an odd one, apparently he can only seem to heal in his cave first of all. Second of all, Super Gyaos got taken out by a single Plasma Ball. That's not to great. Showa Gyaos is pretty durable and like IR says, spams his Sonic Cutter (which almost sliced off Gamera's arm) a lot. Super Gyaos' beam barley have Gamera a cut. Finally, surviving in outer space shouldn't be considered a feat, falling down to Earth and not vaporizing should be considered a feat, but a Plasma Ball quickly diminishes that feat.

Some things on Super Gyaos...

Isn't heisei Gamera an anti-Gyaos? So he would have a natural resistance to sonic beams? It isn't all that unlikely. And second, while surviving in space is not a particularly good feat, falling through the atmosphere at a near ninety degree angle is.

Gamera was easily cut in G1, but in G3 it just bounced off his skin (except for Iris, he managed to cut him) so yes Gamera does have a resistance to it but how much depends on how much he's transformed.

The impressiveness of Super Gyaos' "reentry" is greatly exagerrated. The ram pressure of falling at high speed only caused heating for a couple seconds. It wasn't like he was traveling at hypersonic speeds to keep the speed (and thus heat) up for an extended period like what happens when a meteor or something enters the atmosphere.

That looked like a powered-up version of a Plasma ball though. It appeared as if Gamera absorbed the explosion he was caught in, to increase the power behind the attack that killed Super Gyaos.

I don't think a standard Plasma ball would have done a lot of damage.

But against someone like Showa Gyaos, I think that wouldn't really matter, its beam is very lethal.

Yes, a standard Plasma Ball would have done that much damage. The Plasma Ball that killed Super Gyaos was no different in shape, color or size. That leads to believe it was a normal Plasma Ball. And let's not forget the Hyper Gyaos which were easily taken out by Gamera in G3 with 1-2 Plasma Balls each. Daei seriously dumbed down Gyaos after his first appearance.

I never saw G3 yet xc

I don't know if Gamera from the third movie is stronger or not. I'll need your confirmation on it.

But it says in Gamera's bio it can "absorb and manipulate fire" and it "draws more power by establishing a link with a host." So that last plasma ball Gamera shot had to have been even one tremendous power boost
