Or for those of you that aren't good with acronyms, the Ultra Kaiju, Robots, and Seijin: Ultimate Monster Beatdown of the Utmost Epic Proportions! The Tournament

General Rules-

1. Sign-ups will start 12:00pm(noon) EST on Sunday, July 8 and will last until 12:00am(midnight) EST on Sunday, July 15
2. There will be at least a 1 week period to discuss the rules
3. Unlike previous tournaments, this one will NOT feature any arena traps or match conditions that kill off half a team
4. Certain attacks and abilities may be turned off for balance issues
5. Each match will last 7 days plus 1 day for voting

Voting Rules-

1. For your final vote to count you MUST take part in the match discussion
2. If you will not be around on voting day you can PM your vote to me, this can be done any time before a voting day
3. In case a match results in a tie I will be the tie-breaker and decide who wins the match. If a match I am in ends in a tie, I will back out of the tournament. I will not vote for teams unless it's for a tie-breaker decision, but I will give my thoughts and discuss the matches with everyone

Team Rules-

1. The eligible fighters for this tournament are those found in the Ultraman section of the Monster Archives and at the World of Ultra
2. Each team consists of 5 fighters
3. Each team must include at least 1 Showa kaiju/robot/seijin, Ultra Q through Ultraman 80
4. Teams are chosen on a first come, first served basis. If someone chooses a monster nobody else can choose that same version of the monster
5. There will be no "Spoils of the War", the 5 fighters you choose are what you use through the entire tournament
6. Some fighters will be banned, see Ban List below
7. Others will be placed into a group that is limited to 1 per team, see Limit 1 Per Team List below
8. Random teams will be added to this tournament to make an even number of participants, if need be

There are some that I'm not sure belong on either list, some that may need moved from one list to another, and some that I may have forgotten to put on a list. I will gladly add/remove monsters from either of these lists if someone provides good reasoning for it.

I'm not entirely sure the exact date yet, depends on my schedule and if there seems to be a big discussion going about the ban or limit lists.

Added Grande's Red King to the Ban list and added in the arenas for the tournament. There are no arena traps, but that does not mean the arenas do not matter. Some fighters may be more effective in one environment and not so great in another so keep this in mind.
As for the the tie-breaker rule...anybody have any suggestions on that? I could be the tie breaker for them but I plan on entering as well, so I don't know how you guys would feel about that.

Wait so, in regards to the limit list, am I correct in assuming that only one team can use that specific monster? I've also noticed that the ban list seems a tad much. Grande's Red King is tough, but I don't believe he's that tough. The ban list seems to limit our options abit. Not complaining, just pointing that out.

Yes, if someone chooses to use Goldras then nobody else can use Goldras and that person cannot pick any other monsters from the Limited list. The ban list is there so one team doesn't have a practically invincible monster to sweep the whole tournament. For example, If(from Ultraman Max), has the ability to copy any attack used on him and as soon as he is "destroyed" he just regenerates entirely and into an even stronger form. I will take consideration in for you thinking that Grande's Red King doesn't need to be banned, though. And the lists don't really limit you too much when you consider the fact that there are over 1200 entries in the Ultra section of the Archives.

I have no problem with it, but is there really anything missing from the Archives besides some of the Ace monsters and some histories?

Speaking of the sign-ups I hope to have them start next weekend and last for a week.
And don't be shy about the ban list and the limit list. Speak up if you've got something you think needs changed.

I've added links to most of the arenas so you guys have an idea what they are like.
After some consideration I have removed Bogal from the Limited list. She fled from Mebius and Tsurugi several times. Mebius is a rookie Ultraman while Hikari was a scientist, so neither of them are exceptional fighters during their fights with her.

As I had mentioned before I will also be entering into this tournament. I'd like to know what you guys think about when I should pick my team. With the Limit list in place I can't make a team to sweep everything so do I post my team as soon as the sign-ups begin, once the sign-ups are over, or just wait until X-amount of people have picked their teams?

Most of the 'giant' scale kaiju, like Giga Chimera or Beryudora are actually pretty mediocre when scaled down. Not that anyone would choose them anyway.

Yeah, I figured it would be easier to just get rid of them so we wouldn't have to do power scaling and stuff.
In case anyone is wondering why Baorn is banned it's because of his ability. For example, if a team has Baorn and Deathfacer then basically any non-robotic monsters will be put to sleep while Deathfacer's blowing them to smithereens.

That's not going to happen. Once a certain version of a monster has been chosen nobody else can pick that one.

Eh, its likely the Neo-Maxima cannon will be banned. Also, I have no plans for my team to include either Deathfacer or Gomora.
