Epic trailer! Now I'm greatly pumped for this game! Thankfully from Tales, Namco hints that if interest are high enough, then they'll add Gundams from other series as DLC and expand the game even more. Freakin Sweeet!

Namco Bandai’s PSN Gundam Game Is Limited To 12 Free Plays A Day

Mobile Suit Gundam: Battle Operation is a free to play downloadable Gundam game… but you’re limited to, at most, twelve plays a day. Each time you exit for a mission you need to spend "sortie energy" and you get at most 12 units for each 24 hour period. Players can stock up to three units of sortie energy and after those are used up you have to wait for the energy to recover.

Let’s say you want to jump right in because Amuro Ray sent a text begging for you to save him. Well, you can, but you have to purchase sortie energy with real world money. Namco Bandai will sell sortie energy in bundles which have a cheaper price per unit.

1 unit: 100 yen ($1.25)
6 units: 480 yen ($6)
13 units: 950 yen ($12)
27 units: 1,850 yen ($23)

Gundam level up in the Mobile Suit Gundam: Battle Operation, which lets players use better parts. You can also pay to break level limits and equip stronger parts right away. Using all Mobile Suits costs 300 yen ($3.78), access to the entire arsenal of weapons is 200 yen ($2.52), and all custom parts costs 200 yen ($2.52).

Sooo, yeah, my hype meter has been somewhat shot, I'm still interested in playing, and we all knew that Namco had to make some form of money from all of this. But yeah, it seems that I'll be playing this 12 time each day then, its doesn't sound completely bad, but knowing that your limited does take some of the fun away IMO.

I was made at first but the 12 plays a day makes it sound like your in a real gundam that needs to recharge if you look at it like that.

True, I doubt I will play the game too many times, I guess it depends on how awesome the gameplay is to me. Still I do look forward to it as well.

So, assuming one game lasts 6 minutes, you'll get ~72 minutes of gameplay a day for a game you didn't even have to pay for.

I don't see a problem with this entirely. Sure, you can't sat up all night playing it and into the next day, but still, pros and cons.

Once you downloaded the game and have it installed then you can log back into your US PSN account and play the game if you want.

Played my first match! It was epic beyond belief and we won too! xD
Also since this is a "full game" you also earn trophies, after my first match I unlocked one lol I love this game already lol.

You have to make a JP PSN account to download it and install it, but you can play it on your US PSN account once all that's finished. Mind you, it will still be in Japanese, so I posted up the translation listings of the main menu and controls.

Also! Your voice operate will be female, but you can switch it to male or just turn the voice off because it can get annoying at times.

Yeah, I switched the voice to male too. The female voice is annoying. Just got done playing my first match. I hijacked somebody's Zaku II and started attacking all of the Zeon people with it. XD

I think I figured out what role best suits me. I think I work best riding around on the Wappa (the hover bike thing) and capturing bases and bombing the enemy home base. I tend to rack up points pretty quickly that way. I kinda suck at 1 on 1 MS fights. If I have to fight somebody in an MS, I'm gonna have some teammates nearby to help me out. My strategy might change once I get a Zaku I sniper type or a GM sniper.

Ok, I managed to learn a little bit more about the sortie system. So have you guys seen the 0/3 and the 0/99 at the bottom of the screen (there might be other numbers instead of 0, just using that number as an example)? Those are your sortie points. The 0/3 is the number of rechargeable sorties and you get 1 sortie point every 2 hours and you can only have a maximum of 3 rechargeable points. The 0/99 is the extra sortie points that you get by purchasing bundles from the JPN Playstation Store, doing something ingame that earns you extra sorties like leveling up, getting the highest score out of everybody, etc. This kinda rustles my jimmies.

i actually got a Zaku Gundam after my first battle online, been constantly upgrading it ever since and winning MS battles as hard as two Rodans tearing up a city together. Although when you play the role as a pilot, when fighting gundams you should mostly use a rocket launcher than the sub machine gun on the Wappa. Once more, so far, I love this game!

But I will admit, before upgrading my Zaku, MS fights have been hard to endure. Sometimes you get jump, and sometimes your opponent wins simply because they use your missed hits and failures as a way to cut you down with their blades. (Until you bring out your bomb shells then they run off like a biYch) Team-work rarely happens in multiplayer games (Everyone is out to get them points) but it surprisingly happens somewhat in this game. Mostly in MS combat.

The main key to winning a MS battle is to stick with your team, otherwise the opposing team will just pick you off effortlessly. Now if you've been greatly upgraded, then you can handle 1 on 1 just fine. 1 on 2, not so much. Still, the perfect way to win a MS battle is sticking with your team.

I hope we don't have to pay for that map, hopefully its free (please let it!)

I dunno what all the Zaku Cannon has but the Guncannon has a different set of cannons on his shoulders. I think the event ends on July 26th. If you don't get the blueprints completed then you won't have access to them. So be sure to get the blueprints up to 100% and I'd say purchase them just for good measure. I'm already 20% at the Guncannon and I don't even have anything for the Zaku Cannon. I've currently got 18845 Points saved up, so that should be plenty to buy them both or at least one of them.

I've been trying to map this thing out for days on end, although with work being a pain in the ass its been really killing my chances. The online battles are really tricky to handle from time to time. One minute your attacking an enemy just fine, then next thing you know your on the ground due to a grenade attack by a two enemy joining the fray. Still I love this game, although its somewhat slow in terms of gameplay pace, its still enjoyable enough to have a good time with it. Now back to upgrading!
