GojiFan wrote:Being a classic means that the game has withstood the test of time and is still fun to play years upon years later. The "classics" like Super Mario Brothers, Super Metroid, etc were the pinnacle of game design back when they were created; some still are designed better than many games now. That is what older members like myself (I'm only 20 and you are making me feel old) remember them as. For us, we rank them high on our lists because some of these games were essentially the must-have-games from their era and 15 years later are still incredibly fun to play.

I respect that definition of 'classics' and even get it. I would even put more on my list if I had played more (replacing Fire Red/Leaf Green w/ Super Mario Bros), so I think the reason most people haven't put them up is that they're younger members and don't have what ever system needed. I agree most of them are incredibly fun to play but that doesn't make them better games, although most are. If this were a TOP 15 GAMES instead of YOUR TOP 15 GAMES I would most certainly put more up. And the fact some are better designed then some of todays games is sad.

Majora's Mask is so godlike...if only we had gotten the original (N64DD) version which would have surely had a ton of more content (It's actually why there were so few dungeons). Also, the 64DD version was also originally going to be 7 days, and not 3. It really is a shame that the game had to be shrunk down, and moved to cartridge. Ocarina of Time suffered the same fate. Both games turned out to be classics anyway, but it's crazy to think they could have been so much more. They were just too ambitious for the time.

After TMNT IV, that was probably my favorite arcade game.

Whats funny about Majoras Mask is that I have more fun playing those same 4 dungeons over and over again then I do playing Ocarina of Times dungeons again. I would have LOVED for that game to be expanded.

Yes, I've played that. I found it incredibly addictive to play co-op. I used to play that with my ex-girlfriend a few years back.

Haha hellyeah first fighter and first game where the characters weren't just a bunch of blocks on the screen with no faces haha Primal Rage blew my 5 year old mind lmao.

Eh I almost din't put STE on my list to be honest I'd probably take off #15 and move STE and everything bellow it down 1 and put Luigi's Mansion at 11 heh.

I really want to contribute to this thread, but trying to name off my 15 all-time favorite games sounds really intense... I'd really need to sit down and think about it. Just a question for people that have posted already, did you post your 15 favorite games, or what you consider to be the 15 best games ever made? Yes, there is a huge difference.

Well, considering the title of the thread, I would say most people posted their favorites.
