This is the 3rd Smash Bros clone that Snake has been in. I wonder how many 3rd party support that this game is going to have?

Dream Mix TV World Fighters. It wasn't released in the U.S.

The other is obviously Super Smash Bros. Brawl.

Dream Mix TV World Fighters was fun because it was so random since it's the only game where you can have Solid Snake fight Optimus Prime. I wonder what version of Snake will they use for this game?

Correct.

So folks what 3rd party characters would you like to see appear in it?

I would probably like to see Ratchet, Spyro, or any WOM characters. Otherwise, I don't know.

I highly doubt any form of the Monsters game is going to be in this game. It's just not what people think when they think of Sony games.
Apparently SWTOR said that I can invite 25 people for a 7 day trial of the game. PM me if interested.

That's not completely true, War of the Monster is one of the many games that people do recall within Sony's exclusive arsenal of games. Even to this day this stands true, even more so, people want a sequel because the game was that enjoyable (This include people who are not Kaiju fans or Godzilla fans). That just staples the conclusion that when people think Sony games, War of the Monsters is on that list, its just not in the top ten, more like the top 30. At least here when dealing with U.S Sony Games.

None the less, I can see a War of the Monster character being playable, sure they'll be smaller, although slightly bigger then human based characters. But at least they'll be playable, for anyone having some trouble, just think of Nintend's SSB's Bowser. And its not like Sony can't give any Giant enhance items to make your monster grow bigger. Find the item, use it, there you go. Big Monster causing destruction, stomping on foes and unleashing monstrous chaos. At least until the item wears off lol.

I think it's strange that this news comes when I'm watching a play-through of Uncharted 1, and my copy of Metal Gear Solid just arrived...

Do you really think Goku and Vegeta is going to be in this game? I guess Nintendo should add Godzilla in the next Smash Bros games because Destroy All Monsters Melee was a popular Gamecube game going by your logic  .

I really don't see WOTM monsters being playable unfortunately.

But hey... Kineticlops (the electric, one eyed monster) was playable in that one downhill biking game. So I could always be wrong.

I was thinking perhaps there could be different types of stages. Like the player could have options for the character size: Tiny, Small, Medium(Normal), and Large. If the player chose any of these options, they would get stages that are based on the character size. If the player chose tiny, the characters would get to fight underground, or if the player chose large, the characters would fight in a city giant monster-style.

Yeah, this isn't an anime-based fighter like Battle Stadium D.O.N. This will be a game comprised of Sony owned characters, inspired by the Super Smash Bros. series.

Sony has almost 20 years worth of characters to use. They're not going to waste time and money implementing anime characters that would be extremely expensive to license.
