Ghost Rider is a fantastic character. I use to have Spidey on my team, but I realized I was better with Ryu.

CvS2 is NOT slow at all, I have no idea where you're getting at.

Look at this video, very fluid animation. Third Strike characters feel like they take 10 hours to throw out a normal (Exaggeration but it does feel very slow).

The parry system is one of the best defensive mechanics ever to be put into a fighting game. Period.

What? Are we talking about the same mechanic that killed zoning and turned the game into an unbalanced mess?

I still take Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo as my favorite Street Fighter game since I always like the character section better. I hear mixed things about the XBL release. I think we are getting bit off topic :| .

First of all, I know what CvS2 gameplay looks like, I don't need some sort of reminder.

I still quite don't understand the 3rd Strike complaint. If you're playing the game on a laggy setup (via PC emulation, or PS2/PS3 with shitty arcade stick converters=guaranteed lag), it's not going to play well. (I'm not saying that's the reason you're having trouble, but it is something that happens) I have no way of knowing what you're judging the game by. I've never heard these complaints about it the game being "slow", or that parrying is ineffective..then again, I don't talk about Street Fighter with "casual" gamers.

What's exactly is so unbalanced about parrying? If it you miss your parry, you take damage. It not like it doesn't have it's downsides. it's also not always better than just blocking, and then reacting to your opponent (like like in the older SF games). It really depends on the situation.

I'm sorry, that sounded rude, even coming from me.

I didn't mean you're a casual gamer, I just meant talking about SF with casual gamers in general.

Man you couldn't have sounded any dumber, I'm 21, And I have the same preferences as Shazam14, My reasons are that both games offer more variety than their older relatives. Age has nothing to do with this.

And Yes, I've been playing Fighting games since I was 5, spending loads of time at the arcade and I do play my fighting games competitively before you look for more excuses to try and feel like a better man then the rest of the people here.

And about the SFIII Vs CVS2 argument, they're both fast, just not the same kind of fast, Haha!
I Love both games and can't decide on which one I like the most even though I think SFIII is the better game.

SF III has the advantage of not having matches that just go on foreeeeeeever, nor does it have glitches like roll cancelling, which is really hard to see unless you know what to look for. I get RC'ed all the time by friends who are much more experienced with the game simply because I don't know what to look for a lot of the time. That can make it really hard to beat high level CvS2 player, even if you yourself aren't actually bad at the game.

Excessive turtling is almost impossible to do effectively in 3rd Strike (unlike in CvS2, where it works well). Unless you have a really good Chun-Li, and are godlike at parrying, it's likely not going to get you very far. Of course, playing online, you can get away with some dumb turtly shit. 3rd Strike online sucks, even with really high/good ping.

I didn't know being called a casual player was an insult.

It sounds like that you need to be hardcore to play and enjoy the Street Fighter series?

I don't think so, Half of the buddies that come over are casuals, they know how to do all the moves and one or 2 set ups but that's it, they still love it, I just play random or don't go all out against them, it's still just as fun, just a different type of fun.

Well, I caved in and bought the original release for $9.99 at Gamestop.

I will try it out tonight after work. If I like it enough, I'll trade in for Ultimate.

One question, I don't see regular MvC3 DLC on the PSN store, only UMvC3 DLC. are they the same thing? will it work on both games?

Replaying this with Kevin reminds me of how broken the game is...

And Kevin loves this series and he wouldn't stop complaining...

So, I'm thinking of finally getting around to buying this in the next week or two. You think enough time has passed? I mean, if they were gonna release Super Mega Ultra Marvel vs. Capcom 3 Part Two: Electric Boogaloo - Now With Every Character You Ever Wanted PLUS Howard the Duck! Edition, we'd know by this point, right?

Yeah. I'd say so.

So I bought it. And sold it in the same month. Got bored with it.

I don't think they are not going to any DLC at all and that UMVC3 is likely going to be the last edition of the game. We can always wait in 2021 for MVC4 ;).

So yeah. I got UMvC3. It's fun, though I'm not sure what I think about some of the cosmetic changes they made.
