Are there any gameplay videos yet? I really would like to see some parasitic Pikmin.

1. You do know you can transfer all save information from your Wii to the WiiU, and that the WiiU is backwards compatible, right?

2. The boss in the E3 demo, I believe, is able to eat the Rock Pikmin.

Kiryu2012: Parasite Pikmin?... I was only suggesting they should be in 3 due to the Bulbmin in 2.

^I'm past that problem, thanks. No need to worry about it now.

I had the exact same argument on the first forum I joined. I need to stop instigating said argument.

For some reason, I'm favoring 1 over 2 now... I dunno why.

Bumping because I saw the E3 trailer and gameplay demo videos. I apologize for posting stupid questions earlier, but now for my thoughts.

I really like the music from the trailer. It's... awesome. The pikmin sounds sound good too. One minute detail I noticed that made me happy is the fix with nectar consumption. If only one pikmin drinks from the puddle, he won't be a hog and drink the whole thing like in Pikmin 1 (and I'm sure it's the same in Pikmin 2 as it is in 1). That will more than likely relieve me of the agitation when Pikmin start plucking grass/smashing rubble without my say so. The new type of bridge building is nice, but I hope the classic bridges remain, too. The same goes for the gates, as well. Dirt walls are nice visually, but they seem to present less of a challenge.

Rock Pikmin are looking nice. While one might argue that they might remove some of the use of Purples, I disagree. I watched a Let's Play of Pikmin 2, and purples seem broken enough as it is in combat. Combined with the enemy nerfs from 1 to 2, the purples are overpowered. Rock Pikmin seem to solve this problem somewhat, because at least now there will (hopefully) be enemies that purples cannot hurt due to shielding. Some other small touches that are nice are the rushing/charging mechanic and the ability to go completely underwater with blues. I was hoping they'd do that some day.

In the end, I'm hyped for Pikmin 3. My brother is going to get Pikmin 2 NPC in August for his birthday, so I'll be playing that to death in preparation.

I wonder if we'll get new kinds of Bulborbs, or even dinosaur-like creatures. I've recently been thinking of lizard-like versions of the Pikmin, but I'm sure the closest we'll get to that are the Bulbmin(which I hope will be multiplied like any other Pikmin) and/or any other new Pikmin.

Bulborbs are based off of ladybugs, not reptiles, I believe.

Dinosaurs? No. Yuck, no.

Now, something like a bearded dragon wrecking havoc? Hubba hubba, let's throw down.

Bearded dragon creatures would be cool. And an anteater Bulborb, eh? That could be interesting. I wonder if the Rock Pikmin could be eaten by them.

Eh. Most casual players will hate them for a short while because of how easily they devour pikmin, but most casual players don't mind a few pikmin deaths. They're going to give zero-death runners a pain, unless the Ultra-bitter Spray returns, in which case you won't have such a problem. I simply enjoy the design and the specialness of an anteater bulborb. It'll be fun to take them down!

I'm gonna go ahead and guess that the Pikmin could cut off it's tongue to make things easier.

Oh I've played Pikmin. I have the first game. I was just wondering if cutting the tongue off would make fighting the anteater Bulborb easier. Or maybe we would have to make it eat bombs to get rid of it faster.

From one Pikmin 1 junkie to another, I regret to inform you that bomb rocks are uncarryable by Yellows in Pikmin 2 and will likely not be able to in Pikmin 3. Therefore, it can be concluded that it will be impossible to make it ingest bomb rocks.

Onto what else you said, cutting off the tongue seems a bit... gruesome. Like I said, though, the Ultra-Bitter spray stuns enemies for a short time by petrifying them (I have yet to see it in action, as I only have Pikmin 1 NPC at current) so you can kill them while they are unable to return fire. Therefore, it would be a useful tool in slaying anteater bulborbs because it would stop them from scooping up your pikmin (as seen in the trailer).

Yeah, the bitter spray is indeed handy, but you get nectar when you kill the enemy.

The only enemies you can "disarm" is the Titan Dweevil and Water Wraith, though the latter isn't really disarming as it is just continuing the fight. It just doesn't feel right to disarm enemies in this series. These games are meant to be for everyone, and that'd be too... out there.

So you're saying you DON'T want a dark and gritty Pikmin title? How dare you!

^Legionmaster wins the thread and a bucket of nectar.

Something I'd like to see is using Miis in the non-story parts of the game. Just slap a Mii head onto Olimar's body and you'd be set. New Super Mario Bros. U is doing it, so I don't see how Pikmin 3 can't just jump on the bandwagon. As a plus, the inevitable confusion generated in multiplayer would be partially relieved.

Also, when Maiyamato or whatever the hell his name is said that Olimar's whereabouts are a "secret", I got a little scared. Pikmin isn't Pikmin witout Olimar!
