I'm going to say $350-$400 that tablet controler is going to cost a pretty penny unless they find a way to manufacture it cheaper.

Well, people did say the controller felt very light as if it was cheap or not even real, but works wonders so that makes it 50/50, Haha!

They did said that the Wii U is just as strong as a PS3 and 360, or if not stronger. The 360 was $399.99 when it came out, I think you will likely be right around that amount of money.

Beat me too it, yes but still having a hard drive built in would have been nice

$400 for a console without a hard drive is a rip off IMO. The 360 with a hard drive was $400 back in late 05 when they came out, but those models had hard drives. I agree with others though that the controller will likely drive costs up.

^I need to agree with that. The lack of a hard drive should have an impact on the price.

It's going to have flash memory in it which is more expensive than an HDD but faster.

Look at SSD drives compared to hard drives and you'll see what I mean.

Sadly enough, that is a cheap method.

Ugh. This thing is DOA already

Investing in a new console is never cheap, but considering the main input method for the Wii U is a controller with a screen in it, we were understandably daunted by the idea of having to buy multiple WiiPads. According to Shigeru Miyamoto (probably known best as the senior producer on Chibi Robo) we needn't have worried.

Miyamoto told GamePro that the [i]Wii U will only support one WiiPad
, explaining that if the company had wanted to do multiple touchscreens it would have found a way to let players use 3DS systems with the new console.

Miyamoto didn't rule out the possibility of letting you take your WiiPad to a friends house and linking up play somehow, but it doesn't seem to be actively in the works at the moment.

Wow, only one controller? They're kidding, right? If that's the case, I'm not buying.

Relax, I'm sure they have some kind of multiplayer mechanism in place.

Didn't the Wii only had one Wii remote? Not surprise that they are giving us only one controller.

Wii supported up to four Wiimotes. I heard a rumor that you could only have one Wii U pad synced to the system and then for multiplayer stuff everyone else would be using Wiimotes, looks like that came out true.

Not at all what they are talking about.

It kind of makes sense though. Those controllers would be EXPENSIVE. It's basically a tablet that also contains the ability to stream games, has motion controls, a front facing camera, etc. Average people wouldn't be able to afford more than one. It would be quite taxing on the Wii U to stream the game to more than one controller anyway.

I imagine they will patch/whatever the Wii U at some point to allow for more than one controller for some games (though streaming to all of them will definitely not happen).

I see. I see nothing wrong with the whole one controller idea since no one hardly plays video game local anymore. It's all been about online play in the past few years.

That applies only to certain people but even then I know they'll manage to make games pretty fun either way.
