I forgot how difficult the game is... and I got torn apart, first by Mirror B's Ludicolo squad of death, then by Dakim's EQing team, and now, I'm stuck om Venus's status inducing team... I now officially hate Steelix and Suicune... and anything that can use Attract!

Both that game and XD were one of the best. I wish they made more console games of pokemon, in my honest opinion. They were better than the handheld and cipher were the best evil organization.

XD was awesome. I wish they had Shadow Lugia in the portable games.

Same, but I guess with Shadow moves being super effective against all non shadow pokemon, it would be broken.

Hey guys does this team sound like it can annihilate the Elite Four in FireRed?

Venusaur Lv. 50 (solarbeam, frenzy plant, razor leaf, cut)
Jolteon Lv. 50 (thunder, thunderbolt, thunder wave, secret power)
Gyarados Lv. 50 (hyper beam, hydro-pump, surf, earthquake)
Arcanine Lv. 50 (fire blast, flamethrower, strength, extreme-speed)
Pidgeot Lv. 50 (steel wing, aerial ace, fly, agility)
Dragonite Lv. 55 (blizzard, dragon claw, slam, thunder wave)

Do the moves seem ok too?

um, while the moves could use more work, the team itself seems alright. yeah, with a dozen+ hyper potions and full restores, you should be alright.

I myself obliterated the rematch Elite 4 with my team of lv. 57's... my team is Blastoise, Fearow, Gyarados, Sandslash, Jolteon, and Exeggutor. Movepools will be put up later, but it was a blast.

I took the Platinum Elite Four with four pokemon -plus two guy I wanted to give ribbons to-, a Machamp, a Gardevoir, a Exploud and a Luxray. The Gardevoir took four of Cynthia's pokemon after several Calm Minds and a Salac Berry boost. I was at level 50 when I started.

I'm going to switch out Reuniclus for Alakazam on my BW. Zam is faster and has access to the same moves and ability: Magic Guard. Reuniclus just isn't working out.

So I recently played through a partially translated (just Pokemon, items, moves, etc; no plot or dialogue) ROM of Black 2. As previously stated, I can't comment on the plot, as I'm only hazy on what went down from visual cues, although I ended up wishing New Plasma was a little more present earlier in the game rather than just at the climax. There were little spats with them here and there, but I don't think you really fight more than a grunt or two at most points until Opelucid City and then the climax.

I'm also quite a bit disappointed at the Pokemon distribution. A TON of the Pokemon I'd want to use don't show up until after the 6th gym (Skyla) or after the Elite 4. It really narrows down the options for me (especially for Surfers) and makes me wish it didn't echo BW in this way. Also, it's nice that there's a shitload of new fliers, but why the hell are almost all of them special attackers? Like, really? Kind of a pain in the ass that that's pretty limited.

They hit a homer on the music again (mostly). Each gym overworld theme is now a remix of the standard theme (with the exception of Cheren, because he's first and the Normal type gym leader and a boring nerd). Roxie has a J-pop sounding remix, Burgh has creepy "I'm gonna rape you" music, Elesa's sounds like a nightclub, I forget what Clay and Skyla's were like, Drayden gets epically orchestral, and I don't remember Marlon's either. The new music for the new towns is nice. Rival's theme reminds me of old school Megaman music, which is baller. A lot of people are creaming themselves over Iris's battle theme, but I didn't find it terribly exciting (except for the few moments when it echoes the FRLG Champion theme). They also bring back some Hoenn music for the Regigigas Chamber, which is sweet (it's a good theme, probably because it lacked trumpets in RSE).

They also keep the trainers, overall, at a much closer level to your Pokemon, which is nice. Ironically, where you begin to get overleveled is when you go up against New Plasma at the climax. I outleveled Ghetsis, and by the time I fought Iris I outleveled her by 4 levels. Granted, I made sure to fully explore, make the best use out of my Lucky Egg, and acquired 14 Rare Candies by the time I got there (even without the Candies, I would have still outleveled Iris by 2 levels). Thankfully, a challenge version exists, so when I inevitably buy Black 2 for my random playthroughs it will be more difficult (ie. I'm totally getting more people together for a Challenge Mode mystery egg run).

Overall I'm quite pleased with the game, as it adds plenty to Unove to keep it from being a boring rehash of BW. My main issue is my team, which I hoped this test run would help bring me insight on. Unfortunately, it only complicated things further. I'm still stuck with Serperior, Azumarill, and Klinklang being my only 100% confirmed members. Sigh.

If I remember later, I think I have one (well, can breed you one). Also, we never traded for those DW ability mons you hacked for me (ironically, most of them are legit now). We should figure that out sometime.

Gensect known as Paleozoic Pokémon, is finally coming to Japan event! Starting Aug 11- Sept 14th Japanese B2 & W2 can receive Gensect. It is #155 in the original Unova Pokédex and #300 in the new Unova Pokédex.
