Things that scared you in the past

We must've had something in a video game that we were scared of.Back then, what ever boss that runs and is bigger than your character sort of scared me but the one thing that scared me for real might be the Gigyas' from Earthbound.
It's a signature with words. What more can you want?

Zombies used to be all it took. No it's rare a game scares me. Not to say it never does but sometimes paying a huge bill is just more sinister then fighting off some unholy ghost of a serial killer.

Eternal Darkness was the only video game where I was scared playing in the dark.

This is where BioShock hit the nail on the head. The anxiety of being watched and general creepiness of the environment was done perfectly, and set up some really tense and startling moments.

How could someone get scared of MK? It's not that scary to begin with.

As for the topic at hand nothing really scared me in a video game, I've jumped a few times while playing RE1 back in the day and Dead Space had some tense moments to it.

It's a work in progress please suggest to me how to improve it

A few of the marine levels in AvP 2 were freaky (specifically the opening level). Not so much i was scared, but i was paranoid and startled a few times.

I was very easy to scare as a child so I'll just post whatever first comes to my mind about the topic:

Doom: Everything on it even the crappy mountain's in the background, it all seemed so empty.
Resident Evil: The First Zombie turning around to look at you, aside from that, Everything.
Donkey Kong Country: The Invincible Crocodiles that dwell in the mines.
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time: The Market after Ganondorf destroys it.
The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask: Pretty much everything specially Ikana Valley, Great Bay and the Ranch while being invaded by the Them.
Zombies ate my Neighbors: I couldn't even move at the first Stage, even the music was scary to me.
Some Alien 3 game for the Sega Genesis I think: There's a lot of people on the walls that you have to free, Just seeing them was scary 'cause at any moment their stomach could burst with a Baby Alien.
Some Jurassic Park game for the SNES: The when where your weapon is some electric beam ray thingy, everything scared me in there as well, specially the 1st Person parts.
Earthbound: The intro with the UFOs.
Darkstalkers: Jedah's Stage: Fetus of God, have a look at it:

This takes the cake for me too since it's technically in the past. I couldn't even finish the darn thing. I got to Fort Frolic and I was like forget this and haven't touched it since. It was really neat though, wish I had the guts to complete it.

What video game related thing(s) scared me in the past? TAAAAANNNNNK!!!!! And the Zombies from the Half-Life 2 saga still unnerve me to this day. They never give you enough ammo to deal with those guys. And then there's the Tencale from Lost Planet...
