Duke Nukem got bad reviews because it wasn't like modern games, it still featured stuff from about 10 years ago.

Aliens came out in the 80's. That's older than 10 years.

Yeah, I'm really annoying. I know that.

I'm talking about in terms of gameplay mechanics, Duke Nukem Forever featured gameplay mechanics that where popular in shooters about a decade or so ago, most reviewers gave it a bad review because it wasn't like modern games and the graphics wheren't as nice as they should be by today's standards.

Really the only thing wrong with DNF is the horrendous loading times, other than that the game isn't that bad.

Yep. DNF used the style that goes along the lines of:

Pull out giant and ridiculous weapon.
Make equally ridiculous one-liner.
Aim at durable, ugly alien.
Blow shit up.
Save the hot chick.

There was no concept of cover, regenerating health, etc back in those style of games. Reviewers clearly don't approve of anything that breaks the current mold (even though these same people gave the original DN raving reviews).

I agree, I mention DNF because it was development hell for so long that no one give a shit when it came out and the game got bash apart. Pushing this game back could be a good thing since they might be working on the gameplay but I really hope the new trailer could give us a full release date. As long if they don't release it in September then I'm fine seeing that Halo 4 comes out that month.

Gave me a huge Gears of War vibe from the trailer but it was still cool non the less.

I wonder if the delay was so they could release it on Wii U too?

^ I like to think that the game got delayed because of Wii U since it has been delayed to Autumm and the console
probably will be released around that time if not around the holidays.

And the trailer has a GOW feel to it, i played "Mad World" from Gary Jules and it fit.

I'm sure the delay has a lot to do with making sure the game is of the highest quality, but could also be because they want to develop and release the Wii U version along with the other versions.

The Q&A with the developers is happening tomorrow on AvPgalaxy, so hopefully we'll find out a plethora of info from that.

It seems like that the competitive multiplayer was borrows heavily from Valve's Left 4 Dead going by Gamereactor's preview. Great to see some new info again for once.

The GameSpy Preview reckons 2013 release date, but Sega's site still has Fall 2012 as a release date. If the game does not come out until 2013 then I can't wait another year since it's been so long already. We knew about this project for nearly six years which was half a decade ago.

I'm just so sick of waiting for this game and it's bad enough that they keep on pushing it back. Not to mention they just push it back to Fall 2012 not too while ago and now we have to wait longer again!

If anything it means that they're working to make this game as good as possible. Honestly, the wait might be well worth it in the end.
